The COVID-19 pandemic that swept the globe at the end of 2019 has had a long-term impact on people’s mental and behavioral changes.Despite the pandemic’s relative stabilization within the country, and the optimization of prevention and control policies to "Class B management," the novel coronavirus has not completely disappeared.Common infectious diseases such as influenza and norovirus intermittently emerge.People have become more concerned about child health and disease prevention in daily life.People have become more concerned about child health and disease prevention in daily life.Children’s hospitals,as high-risk public places for cross-infection,are expected to provide high-quality environments for sick children to recover and reduce the risk of cross-infection within the hospital. Therefore,it is particularly important for landscape design of children’s hospitals to adapt to new situations and changes, and to create a safer and more conducive environment for physical and mental recovery. This research elaborates on concepts such as post-pandemic era, children’s hospitals, infectious diseases, and nosocomial infections, summarizing and sorting out related theories in environmental psychology, botany, safe social distance, and stress relief. The principles of infectious disease transmission, control mechanisms, and the inhibitory effects of landscape on disease transmission are discussed, and the research foundation of children’s hospital landscape is analyzed.Through a comprehensive review of related research, case analysis, and field investigations of three children’s hospitals, the types of landscape elements in children’s hospitals are analyzed, and the landscape structure of children’s hospitals in the post-pandemic era is formed.Five design philosophies are summarized, including dispersed safe layout, relaxing emotional guidance, caring facility guarantee, diverse spatial experience, and dual emphasis on protection and recovery.Five design strategies are proposed:dispersed spatial layout, fun isolation methods, clear emotional guidance,child-friendly epidemic prevention knowledge, and modular health and entertainment experience. With the above research results as the theoretical support, this study guides the landscape design practice of Hebei Province Children’s Hospital, aiming to provide a landscape design idea and model that emphasizes both infectious disease prevention and recovery in the post-pandemic era.It meets the needs of users, optimizes the existing landscape environment, integrates the function of landscape in inhibiting the spread of infectious diseases into the landscape design of children’s hospitals, reduces the risk of cross-infection in hospitals, meets social requirements, parental expectations, and the needs of sick children, and provides a reference for future research and design of children’s hospital landscapes.
