Jianghan Plain is an important grain producing area in Hubei Province, known as the "Land of fish and rice".During the long period of people’s labor, the original wilderness and waters have been gradually transformed into fertile soil suitable for farming and livable. The unique landscape of polder was formed in Jianghan Plain through the interaction between man and nature,as the working people built embankments and dikes for a long time and turned barren lakes into fertile fields. The polder landscape is a kind of rural landscape formed by working people’s transformation of nature based on the needs of production and living. It is the crystallization of working people’s wisdom and contains rich ecological wisdom of regional construction and unique texture. However, the urbanization process caused the erosion and destruction of polder landscape, and its inheritance vein was divided, and the distinctive rural landscape gradually lost its regional characteristics. This paper firstly sorted out and studied the development history of polder landscapes in Jianghan Plain, and classified and summarized the polder landscapes in Jianghan Plain. The rural-urban integration polder landscapes, which were most seriously disturbed by urbanization, were selected as the research objects, and the composition pattern and spatial pattern characteristics of the rural-urban integration polder landscapes were analyzed from the overall pattern, constituent system and constituent elements, respectively. The current situation of constituent elements was summarized through field investigation.Secondly,in view of the systematic, fragile and conflict-oriented ecological characteristics and current situation of rural-urban integration polder landscapes,a "risk-conflict" evaluation system was constructed, and a "risk-conflict" evaluation was carried out on the overall pattern and constituent system of Dongxihu polder landscape in the past 20 years. To explore the spatial and temporal distribution and evolution of ecological risks and spatial conflicts in Dongxihu polder landscape under the influence of urbanization. Finally, based on the evaluation results, the optimization strategy of the rural-urban integration polder landscapes was formulated from three levels: overall pattern, constituent system and constituent elements. In terms of the overall pattern, based on the assessment results of "risk-conflict" of the overall pattern in the study area, the minimum resistance surface model was used to construct the overall ecological security pattern to maintain the ecological security of polder landscape. At the level of constituent system, based on the "risk-conflict" evaluation results of constituent system, the regions that need to be optimized are identified, and corresponding optimization strategies are proposed to ensure the stability of constituent system. In terms of the elements, based on the evaluation results and the current situation of the elements, corresponding optimization strategies were put forward to highlight the overall features and features of the embankment and dikes. This paper constructs an overall protection and optimization system of rural-urban integration polder landscapes from three aspects, which has practical significance in promoting the inheritance and development of the polder landscape in Jianghan Plain and improving the regionalism of the polder landscape.
