Tea geometrid(Ectropis oblique Prout)is an oligophagous tea pest that is one of the most important pests in Chinese tea gardens and seriously affects the yield and quality of tea.Insect survival,growth and reproduction are mainly affected by host plants and temperature and other factors.In this study,an age-stage two sex life table was used to assess the influence of different tea varieties and temperature on the fitness of the tea geometrid.The main findings are as follows:1.Effects of different tea varieties on population fitness of tea geometrid.by using age-stage two sex life tables,the effects of feeding Fuding Dabai and Huangdan,two tea varieties,on the growth,development,fecundity,and population parameters of the tea geometrid population were analyzed.Tea geometrid feeding on Fuding Dabai or Huangdan showed random changes in the developmental duration of larvae and pupa and preoviposition period between different generations.The lifespan of female adult and male adult and total fecundity of the tea geometrid feeding on Fuding Dabai were significantly higher than those feeding on Huangdan,indicating that Fuding Dabai was more conducive to the breeding and population expansion of the tea geometrid.2.Effects of different temperatures on population fitness of tea geometrid.as the temperature rises,the developmental duration of the larvae and pupa,the early adult stage,the lifespan of female and male of tea geometrid fed with Fuding Dabai or Huangdan are significantly shortened.The lifespan,survival rate,and total fecundity of female adult were significantly increased.The intrinsic rate of increase,finite rate of increase,and net reproductive rate of the tea geometrid population dynamic parameters increased significantly.The average generation time of the dynamic parameters of the tea geometrid population was significantly reduced.Population dynamics simulation and forecasting indicated that the tea geometrid is more conducive to its population expansion and reproduction at 26℃.
