Lily,as a medicinal and edible homologous plant, has a long history of cultivation in China. As the origin center,China accounts for more than half of the total lilies in the world, with about 55 species and 18 varieties.Lily is widely distributed in China and rich in resources. It is a rare raw material for hybrid breeding of lily in the world and has great development value. In this study, ten lily species(30 collection sites)were used as materials, and their bulbs were analyzed for polyphenolic content, antioxidant activity, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and soil nutrients using colorimetric,Kjeldahl, and atomic absorption methods,to investigate the application prospects of wild lilies in the development of antioxidant functional foods and to provide references for the further development of valuable lily resources. The following are the main findings of the study.1.The contents of total polyphenols, total flavonoids, total flavanols, and total anthocyanins in lily bulbs of different species(collection sites)were significantly different(P<0.05),and the ranges were 1.52 mg/g~5.90 mg/g,0.28 mg/g~0.84 mg/g,0.18 mg/g~1.44 mg/g,0.06 mg/g~0.48 mg/g,respectively.The highest total polyphenol and total flavonoid contents were found in Lilium sargentiae from Yanjing Township,Baoxing County,Sichuan, and the highest total flavanol content was found in Lilium lophophorum bulbs from Jiajinshan,Baoxing County,Sichuan, while the highest total anthocyanin content was found in Lilium leucanthum from Hongyang Township,Zhenping County,Shanxi,China;the contents of polyphenols in lily bulbs from different collection sites of the same species differed significantly(P<0.05),The results showed that the quality of lily provenances had obvious ecological regional differences.2.The scavenging ability, copper ion reducing ability, metal chelation ability and lipid peroxidation inhibiting ability of different species(collection sites)of lily bulb extracts on DPPH free radicals differed significantly(P<0.05),and the antioxidant ability of wild lily polyphenol extracts was stronger than that of Lilium davidii var.unicolor, among which Lilium leucanthum lily of Hongyang Township,Zhenping County,Shanxi had the strongest DPPH free radical scavenging ability(10.66 μmol/g),the strongest copper ion reduction ability of Lilium lancifolium in Chengguan Township,Ganggao County,Shanxi Province(35.23 μmol/g),the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation of Lilium pumilum in Dabei Township,Shunping County,Hebei Province(91.29%),and the strongest metal chelation ability of Lilium pumilum in Nansi,Alashan League,Inner Mongolia(59.13%);the antioxidant activity of lily bulb polyphenol extracts from different collection sites of the same species of lily was significantly different(P<0.05),indicating that the antioxidant capacity of lily seeds has a significant "genuine nature".3.There were significant differences(P<0.05)in the contents of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in lily bulbs and soils of different species(collection sites),and the ranges of variation in the contents of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total potassium in lily bulbs of different species(collection sites)were 0.39 mg/g to 17.14 mg/g,0.17 mg/g to 4.68 mg/g and 1.59 mg/g to 26.07 mg/g,respectively.While the results indicated that the N,P,and K contents of lily bulbs and soils of collection sites in Shanxi and Henan were generally higher. The content of potassium in lily bulbs and soil was higher than that of nitrogen and phosphorus.4.Correlation analysis showed that total polyphenols, total flavonoids, and total anthocyanins were significantly(P<0.05)or highly significantly(P<0.01)positively correlated with DPPH scavenging power, and total polyphenols were significantly(P<0.05)positively correlated with copper ion reducing ability;soil available nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium were significantly(P<0.05)positively correlated with total phosphorus content in lily bulbs.0.05),total polyphenols and total flavonoids were highly significantly correlated with total nitrogen content in lily bulbs(P<0.01),total polyphenols were positively correlated with fast-acting potassium content in soil at a significant level(P<0.05),total anthocyanin content was significantly positively correlated with total nitrogen content in bulbs(P<0.05);DPPH scavenging power and total nitrogen content in bulbs were significantly positively correlated(P<0.05).5.A comprehensive evaluation of the antioxidant properties of lily polyphenols using cluster analysis and affiliation function analysis. The results showed that the polyphenolic content and antioxidant activity of wild lilies were higher than those of davidii var.unicolor, with the highest integrated affiliation function value of 5.48 for Lilium sargentiae from Xinhua Village,Yanjing Township,Baoxing County,Sichuan Province, followed by Lilium leucanthum from Hongyang Township,Zhenping County,Shanxi Province(5.09),Chengguan Township,Ganggao County,Shanxi Province, and the comprehensive affiliation function score of Lilium pumilum was 5.01,ranking 3rd,the lowest value of integrated affiliation function was only 0.82 for Lilium davidii var.unicolor in Wenbao Township,Longde County,Ningxia.
