| As a traditional Chinese medicinal material,Cordyceps sinensis has extremely high medicinal value and nutritional value. With people’s demand for Cordyceps sinensis is increasing year by year and supple in natural production areas is decreasing,it is becoming a research hotspot for the study of the artificial large-scale breeding of Cordyceps sinensis, due to the contradiction between supply and demand.Hepialus menyuanicus is an endemic species of Qinghai Province and one of the dominant hosts of the Cordyceps sinensis, which is a better choice for artificial breeding, and one of the bottlenecks is the inconsistent development of larvae age.In this study,we improve the feeding methods by using different feeding materials and substrates, and we had analyzed the effect of feeding materials on the JHⅢ(Juvenile Hormone Ⅲ)and the effect of JHⅢ on the growth and development of larvae as well as reproductive capacity of adults. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The higher the nutrition level of rearing material, the lower the JHIII titer and the better the larval growth and development, and the strongest JHIII inhibition by crude ash and the strongest promotion by crude fiber. The rearing material and substrate influenced the JHIII titer and larval growth and development in the larvae of the manduca moth, and there was a reciprocal effect between the two.The best rearing conditions for the larvae of Hepialus menyuanicus were as follows: Polygonum viviparum as the rearing material, alpine soil as the rearing substrate(coconut coir powder was a good substitute),16℃,and 50% soil moisture.(2)The growth and development of Hepialus menyuanicus in each period was correlated with JHIII titer. In the larval stage,it was negatively correlated with larval growth and development, such as: head shell width, body length and weight, which reduced the larval survival rate and prolonged the developmental period of larvae at 3-4 years old;in the adult stage,it promoted adult mating and increased the egg laying ability of females, such as: the thousand grain weight of eggs, the egg laying capacity of females and the mating mortality rate of females. In summary, the inconsistent larval growth and development was caused by the changes of JHIII in larvae, and the difference of nutrition level and nutrients in rearing materials was one of the main causes of JHIII in larvae. |
