Research On The Influence Of Agricultural Insurance On Agricultural Green Development

Comprehensive green transformation is an important issue for China’s economic and social development in the 14 th Five-Year Plan period.As a natural green industry,promoting comprehensive green transformation of agriculture is an inevitable choice to achieve highquality agricultural development and rural revitalization.Although the central and local governments have taken a series of measures and practices from top-level design to specific actions,they are still facing problems such as the shackles of resources and environment,contradictions in supply and demand structure,weak awareness of green residents,and sloppy production methods.Agricultural green development mainly revolves around the change of production methods,while agricultural insurance is one of the important means to achieve sustainable agricultural development,and has been proven to influence farmers to change their production behavior in terms of large-scale operation and technology upgrading.In view of this,studying the impact of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development can provide theoretical support and a basis for policy choices to comprehensively and deeply promote agricultural green development.Based on a comprehensive review of relevant literature and theories,this paper conducts a study on the impact of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development.The main research contents include: analyzing the measurement method and influencing factors of the level of agricultural green development in China and the influence of agricultural insurance on farmers’ production behavior,and systematically introducing the development status of agricultural green development and agricultural insurance in China;using the entropy value method to measure the level of agricultural green development in each province and city in China,and using the Thiel index for spatial difference analysis;constructing a fixed-effect model to empirically analyze the influence of agricultural insurance on level of agricultural green development,and further divide China into eastern,central and western regions to analyze whether the impact of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development is regionally heterogeneous,and finally conduct a mediating effect analysis to verify the two impact paths of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development.The conclusions of the study are as follows: first,the overall agricultural green development level in China has improved from 2007 to 2020,and the regional differences are mainly contributed by intra-regional differences and the differences are shrinking;subregionally,the development trend of each region is basically consistent with that of the whole country,with the highest development level in the east,and the differences within each region are also shrinking;second,agricultural insurance can significantly promote the level of agricultural green development Second,agricultural insurance can significantly promote the level of green agricultural development,and the conclusion still holds after the robustness test;third,there is heterogeneity in the promotion effect of agricultural insurance on green agricultural development.Compared with other regions,the impact of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development is more significant in the eastern region;fourth,there are two impact paths of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development: scale operation and technological progress.Scale operation plays a masking effect in agricultural insurance’s influence on agricultural green development,which weakens the promoting effect of agricultural insurance on agricultural green development;while technological progress has a mediating effect in agricultural insurance’s influence on agricultural green development,and agricultural insurance can promote agricultural green development by advancing technological progress.Based on the above research findings,this paper concludes with relevant suggestions: the green development of agriculture should be promoted by optimizing the enhancement path of agricultural green development,exploring the development of green agricultural insurance projects,increasing agricultural insurance subsidies for central and western regions,and promoting the combination of agricultural insurance and ecological compensation.
