A Study On The Impact Of Financial Support On Green Total Factor Productivity In Agriculture

As an invisible tool,finance promotes industrial transformation and upgrading,and accelerates economic and social development.In recent years,the scale of financial support for agricultural development in Sichuan Province has been expanding,and with the increase in various agriculture-related loans and funds to support agriculture,Sichuan’s agricultural development has taken a new step forward.As a large agricultural province,the significance of agricultural development in Sichuan Province is so great that the transformation of the agricultural development mode is of paramount importance;therefore,in the face of worsening pollution problems,the agricultural development mode in Sichuan Province must shift from input-driven to green production efficiency-driven to truly achieve the improvement of the rural economy and drive green agricultural development.This paper studies the impact of financial support on green total factor productivity in agriculture in Sichuan Province from the perspective of financial support as well as the mechanism of action,which is more fully elaborated from the theoretical level to the empirical level,and proposes reasonable countermeasures based on the results of empirical analysis.This paper firstly compares the literature and theories related to agricultural green total factor productivity and financial support,and identifies three mechanisms by which financial support affects agricultural green total factor productivity in Sichuan Province.Secondly,after discussing the current situation of financial support for agricultural development in Sichuan Province,the EBM-GML index model is used to calculate agricultural green total factor productivity and its components: agricultural technological progress and agricultural technological efficiency in Sichuan Province from 2010 to 2020.Again,a regression analysis model is set up to study the impact of financial support on agricultural green total factor productivity and its decomposition index.Finally,the mediating effect model and bootstrap test are used to verify the three impact mechanisms proposed in this paper.The study found that:(1)with the increase in financial support,the rural financial system in Sichuan Province has been gradually optimised,promoting agricultural development in all regions;(2)agricultural green total factor productivity in Sichuan Province as a whole is on the rise,but there are differences in growth between regions;(3)financial support has a significant positive impact on agricultural green total factor productivity and its decomposition index,and this finding also applies in the sub-region;(4)there is also an intermediate transmission mechanism for the impact of financial support on agricultural green total factor productivity in the form of increasing the level of agricultural mechanisation,improving the production and operation activities of farmers,and improving agricultural infrastructure.Finally,based on the analysis results,this paper proposes countermeasures from four aspects: insisting on government guidance to promote green agricultural development,reasonably expanding the scale of financial support,giving full play to the dual promotion role of technological progress and technical efficiency,and optimising and upgrading the structure of the agricultural industry.
