Garlic is rich in nutrients,has a wide range of demand and is an important export commodity for China.The mechanization of garlic sowing continues to develop,but the existing sowing machines are not yet mature enough.In order to compensate for the low adaptability of mechanical seed extraction devices to garlic seeds and to meet the agronomic requirements of single sowing and upright scales of garlic seeds during mechanical sowing.In this thesis,after measuring the material characteristics of hybrid garlic seeds,the overall structure of the air-absorbing garlic sowing unit is described and its key components,such as the seed guide,the scaled shoot reversal device,the upright insertion device,the support and the profiling mechanism,are structurally designed and theoretically analyzed.With the help of simulation software analysis and field trials,the dimensional parameters of key components were verified and determined.The main areas of research are as follows:(1)Determination of the material properties of hybrid garlic seeds and the development of a discrete element model.The triaxial dimensions,density,contact parameters and resting angle of the garlic seeds were determined to construct a discrete element model of the seeds for use in subsequent simulation tests.The reliability of the discrete element model was verified by parameter calibration.(2)Design of the air-suction garlic sowing unit.In order to achieve a high sowing success rate of hybrid garlic seeds and a high uprightness of the bulb,an air-suction garlic sowing unit was designed.The overall structure and principles are described,and the structure of its key components is designed,using theoretical formulas for the initial selection of parameters.(3)Analysis of the operational performance of air-suction garlic seeding units.The EDEM discrete element simulation software was used to simulate and analyze the performance of the seed guide,scaled shoot reversal and insertion device.ANSYS finite element simulation software was used to perform modal and static analyses of the monolithic support to investigate its stability.The kinematics of the insertion unit was analyzed using ADAMS mechanical system simulation software to determine the relationship between the unit’s speed and the forward speed of the unit.(4)Prototype trial and field test.Machining of a prototype of an air-suction garlic seeding unit,combining theoretical and simulation analysis.And a three-level single-factor field trial with unit advance speed as a factor.The garlic seed sowing pass rate was 84.26% and the resowing rate was 7.12%,meeting the agronomic requirements for garlic seed sowing.
