Jilin province has a long history of beef cattle breeding,located in the hinterland of beef cattle industry in our country,is a national high-quality beef production area.The development of beef cattle industry in Jilin province has many advantages,such as rich feed resources,good resource base of beef cattle breeds,strong driving ability of leading enterprises and suitable regional climate.Therefore,beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province has broad prospects and great potential for development.As an important industry in animal husbandry,the economic benefit of beef cattle breeding is very huge,to ensure the sustainable development of beef cattle breeding industry is the need of protecting ecological environment,improving economic benefits and ensuring food safety.However,with the continuous development of beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province,the limitations of further development are also increasingly apparent,the decrease of beef supply,the low degree of breed optimization,the lack of development funds and the lack of green breeding technology all restrict the sustainable development of beef cattle breeding industry.In this paper,frequency analysis and theoretical analysis are used to comprehensively consider the characteristics of natural environment,economic development,social development and production of Jilin province,the index system suitable for the sustainable development of beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province was constructed.The evaluation index system of sustainable development of beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province consists of four first-level indexes: Resource Utilization and environmental sustainable development,social sustainable development,economic sustainable development and production sustainable development,twenty secondary indicators have been established under four primary indicators.Secondly,this paper adopts a principal component analysis method--entropy method based on least squares optimization to evaluate the model.Based on the principal component analysis method and the entropy method,the least squares is used to optimize the weights of the evaluation indicators,the combination model combines the advantages of two single models to make the comprehensive evaluation results more consistent with the reality.Through Jilin statistical yearbook,China Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Statistical Yearbook and China Forestry and grassland statistical yearbook,the data of 2011-2020 were collected,based on the Evaluation Index System of sustainable development of beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province,the evaluation method of single model and combination model was adopted,the fluctuation of the Comprehensive Index of sustainable development of beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province from 2011 to 2020 was studied.On the whole,the sustainable development level of beef cattle breeding industry in Jilin province has shown a good trend in the past ten years,the comprehensive sustainable development ability has been continuously strengthened,and the level of resource utilization and environmental sustainable development has been on the rise,the level of social sustainable development has been steadily raised,the level of economic sustainable development has been raised as a whole,and the level of production sustainable development has been slightly decreased.
