This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of Artemisia annua L.polysaccharide(AAP)at different dosages on growth performance,immune and antioxidant functions and expression levels of related genes of broilers.A total of 240 one-day-old AA broilers were selected and randomly divided into five groups,with six replicates in each group and eight broilers in each replicate.Broilers in each group were fed with 0,250,500,750 and 1000 mg/kg AAP in basal diet.The experiment was lasted for 42 d.The results showed that:1.With the increase of AAP supplemental level,the ADG in early stage of broilers was significantly increased(P<0.05),the ADG in the later period had a linear or quadratic increase trend(0.05<P<0.1),F/G showed a linear or conic decrease trend(0.05<P<0.1),It can improve the growth performance of broilers.2.With the increase of AAP supplemental level,the bursa of fabricius index in the later period of broilers was significantly increased(P<0.05);The contents and relative gene expression of proinflammatory factors(IL-1β and IL-6)in liver,spleen,jejunum and bursa of fabricius were significantly decreased(P<0.05),the content of TNF-α in liver and spleen,the content of IL-1β in thymus and its relative gene expression were significantly decreased(P<0.05),significantly increased the contents of anti-inflammatory factors(IL-2 and IL-4)and their gene expression levels in spleen,jejunum,thymus and bursa of fabricius(P<0.05),significantly increased IL-4 content in liver(P<0.05);In addition,with the increase of AAP supplemental level,the content of immunoglobulin in tissues was significantly increased(P<0.05),and finally improve the immune function of broilers.3.With the increase of AAP supplemental level,the SOD activity and its gene expression in liver,spleen and jejunum were significantly increased(P<0.05),the contents of CAT and GPx7 and their corresponding gene expressions in spleen,duodenum and ileum were significantly increased(P<0.05),CAT activity and its gene expression in jejunum were significantly increased(P<0.05);In addition,T-AOC in tissues was significantly increased with the increase of AAP supplemental level(P<0.05)and significantly decreased the content of MDA(P<0.05),and finally improve the antioxidant function of broilers.In summary,the addition of AAP to diet can improve the growth performance of broiler chickens,and improve their immune function by regulating the expression of immunerelated genes and immune indexes.Improve the antioxidant function by increasing the gene expression of antioxidant enzymes and the activity or content of antioxidant indexes;When the amount of AAP added was 750 mg/kg,the overall effect was significant.
