| BackgroundEvidence-based Practice(EBP),is an effective decision-making strategy,can improve patients’ clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of treatment.Hence,the importance of EBP in the global health care systems is well-established.The International Council of Nurses has also made evidence-based practice the gold standard for quality care.However,both nursing students and clinical nurses are not adequately prepared to apply evidence-based practice.Evidence-based practice education and training are reported as the most basic and essential approaches to enhance the improvement of evidence-based practice.The international Sicily statement had also put forward an EBP curriculum framework to facilitate the development of evidence-based practice education and training programs.In view of the gap between evidence-based nursing and clinical practice in China,nursing researchers and managers are in urgent need of high-quality assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based practice education and training,as well as to monitor and analyze the mastery and development of individuals’evidence-based practice ability.At present,the research on evidence-based nursing assessment tools in foreign countries is relatively mature,while in China,there is a lack of high-quality evidence-based nursing assessment scales that have been translated,revised or designed spontaneously by EBP scholars.Evidence-Based Practice Profile Questionnaire(EBP2Q)scale is one of the most comprehensive self-report questionnaires that assesses the EBP knowledge,skills,attitudes,and behaviors across all five steps of EBP(Ask,Acquire,Appraise,Apply,Assess),and has established multiple acceptable validity and reliability measurement properties.And there are Norwegian and Polish versions applied in clinical nursing.Objective1.This study was designed to translate,adapt and validate the EBP2Q,which was designed by McEvoy and others,for use with clinical nursing population in China,and finally form the Chinese version of EBP2Q;2.The Chinese version of EBP2Q was applied to clinical nursing teachers,in the aim of investigating and analyzing the general situation of evidence-based practice of clinical nursing teachers and the influencing factors of their behavioral practice,so as to verify the effectiveness of the Chinese version of EBP2Q as a domestic EBP evaluation tool.Research contents and methods1.After obtaining authorization from McEvoy and other authors,EBP2Q was introduced and localized in Chinese clinical nursing.After a series of rigorous scale evaluation and revision,including item analysis,content validity,factor analysis,discriminative validity,convergent validity,test-retest reliability and internal consistency,the Chinese version of EBP2Q was formed.2.The Chinese version of EBP2Q was applied to evaluate the general situation of evidence-based practice of clinical nursing teachers and the influencing factors of the implementation of evidence-based practice behavior by the means of cross-sectional survey in a tertiary hospital in guangzhou.Results1.The I-CVI of the Chinese version of EBP2Q were all ≥ 0.83.A total of 8 common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis(EFA),which could explain 71.01%of the total variance of items.Confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)showed that the fitting indices of the eight-factor structural model were good:χ2/df=1.936,RMSEA=0.063,SRMR=0.056,CFI=0.894.Spearman correlation coefficient showed that Practice,Sympathy and Confidence were significantly correlated with the corresponding domains in the Chinese EBPQ(r=0.32-0.68,P<0.05).Cronbach’s a for the whole scale was 0.96.Cronbach’s a and composite reliability of each domains are greater than 0.70.The test-retest reliability of each domains were 0.75-0.96.2.Clinical nursing teachers scored relatively higher on attitude and learning intention with the mean scores of each dimensions of(3.95±0.63),(3.59±0.89),and lower on the evidence-based practice related terms and confidence with the mean scores of each dimensions of(2.31±0.94),(2.09±0.76).Multiple regression analysis showed that evidence-based practice attitude,learning intention,skills,evidence-based practice related terms,evidence-based practice education and training experience,years of working and publishing experience were the influencing factors of clinical nursing teachers’ clinical evidence-based practice behavior(P<0.05),which can explain the 58.7%variation in the application of evidence-based practice behavior.Conclusion1.Through rigorously testing,the Chinese version of EBP2Q has good reliability and validity,which can be applied to the evidence-based practice evaluation of clinical nursing population in China,and monitor the effects of evidence-based practice education and training.2.Clinical nursing teachers have a high evidence-based practice attitude and learning intention,but their evidence-based practice knowledge,skills and application need to be improved.Nursing managers should take corresponding measures according to the influencing factors to improve the level of evidence-based practice of clinical nursing teachers and promote the clinical application of evidence-based nursing so as to promote the development of clinical evidence-based nursing education.The Chinese version of EBP2Q can also be used as a good evaluation tool for clinical evidence-based nursing practice evaluation in China. |
