| Objective: In order to summarize the therapeutic effect and stability of different orthodontic methods for malocclusion deformity, and to explore the mechanism and indications of different treatment methods for malocclusion, the cases of anterior open bite in adults(AOB)are collected.By making cephalometric measurement and analyzing the changes of teeth and jaws treated by different orthodontic methods, clinical reference can be provided for the formulation of orthodontic treatment plan and the maintenance of long-term effect for patients. Methods: 42 patients with ABO,who had visited the Orthodontic Department of the affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from November 2014 to May 2018,were selected. All patients were treated with third molars and premolars extraction, then they were divided into two groups according to different orthodontic methods.Multi-loop Wire Technique(MEAW)group, and Microscrew Anchorge System(MAS)group.Patients’ lateral cephalograms(Cephalogram,Ceph),medical records and imaging data have been sorted out before input all the information into Dolphin software. In this program, the measured values can be get by measuring the lateral cephalograms of the two groups before treatment(T0)、after treatment(T1)and one year after the end of orthodontic treatment with retainer(T2).After the process in the Dolphin software, the T-test was used to summarize and analyze the changes of teeth and jaws of the sample cases treated by different methods. The recurrence degree of the two different methods after treatment was summarized and compared, and then the stability of different methods was compared. Results: 1.MEAW technology can successfully treat the AOB for adults. The main mechanism of this treatment is uprighting molars and elongating anterior teeth.Through this method, the average increase of OB is 3.98 mm.2.MAS can increase the stability of anchorage, realizing the indentation of the molars. After the absolute indentation of the molars, the mandible rotates counterclockwise, the N-Me decreases by 1.90 mm and the number of OB increases by 4.33 mm.3.There is no significant difference between MEAW technique and MAS in the treatment of AOB for adults.4.There is a certain degree of relapse after the two methods are maintained. However, the degree and ratio of relapse of MAS is relatively low. Therefore,MAS is more stable in the long term. Conclusion: 1.There is no significant difference between MEAW technique and MAS in the treatment of anterior tooth opening, but the outcome of molar compression of MAS is better and the bones are prone to change obviously,is stronger.Meanwhile,MEAW mainly depends on the upright of molars and the elongation of incisors, which may affect the appearance and long-term stability.2.There was a certain degree of relapse after the two methods are maintained, but the degree and ratio of relapse of MAS was relatively low. Therefore,we think the long-term effect of MAS is more stable. |
