The Study On The Status Quo And Influencing Factors Of Nursing Students’ Learning Motivation In Higher Vocational Colleges

Abstract/Summary:
Objective1.Understand the current level and influencing factors of learning motivation of nursing students in vocational colleges.2.To understand the cognitive experience of nursing students’ learning motivation of administrators,professional nursing teachers,counselors and nursing students in higher vocational colleges,and to explore specific strategies to improve learning motivation.MethodsThis subject consists of two parts,and the following research methods are comprehensively applied:The first part was investigation and research.Using the survey method and the general information survey form and the rating scale of learning dynamic for nursing student and college students’ learning motivation questionnaire and scale of independent learning ability for nursing students and chinese version of nursing teacher teaching evaluation scale as the survey tools,1607 nursing students who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria were cluster sampling selected from 4 vocational and technical colleges with formal authorization points in Henan province.Relevant data were collected and statistically analyzed.The second part was the qualitative research.A semi-structured interview method was used to select 8 professional managements,10 nursing professional teachers,8 nursing counselors and 12 nursing students participated in the interviews in higher vocational institutions through a purpose sampling,and Colaizzi’s qualitative data analysis method was used to explore the present situation and the influencing factors and improvment the strategy of nursing students’ learning motivation.Results1.Through the investigation of 1607 nursing students in higher vocational colleges,it is found that the total score of learning motivation of nursing students is(116.91±14.77),which is slightly lower than the previous research level,Among them,the score of learning need dimension is the highest,the lowest score of learning interest.The total score of college students’ learning motivation questionnaire was(126.56±19.35),the total score of nursing students’ autonomous learning ability evaluation scale was(97.82±12.78),and the Chinese version of nursing teachers’ Teaching Evaluation Scale was(158.19±29.40);2.The results of univariate analysis showed that the higher vocational nursing students learning motivation was statistically significant in terms of grade corcerning,character,family monthly earning,parenting pattern,the family supports,those most affected are health workers,care about your grades,learning-weariness,praise or criticism can affect motivation to study,teaching level,do you think the current nurse-patient relationship,I feel optimistic about my future after graduation,the situation of academic performance in the class,be the student leader of the class or school,the college(P<0.05);3.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the learning motivation level was positively correlated with learning motivation of higher vocational nursing students(r=0.692,P<0.001)autonomous learning ability(r=0.674,P<0.001)and evaluation of nursing teachers’ teaching(r=0.461,P<0.001);4.Through multiple linear regression analysis,grade,the family supports,care about your grades,learning-weariness,cognition of the current nurse-patient relationship,cognition of the way out after graduation,learning motivation of college students,independent learning ability of nursing students,and teaching evaluation of nursing teachers significantly affected the learning motivation level of nursing students in vocational colleges(P<0.05);5.The interview recordings of professional managements,nursing professional teachers,nursing counselors and nursing students in higher vocational colleges were transcribed and coded to extract the theme.The topics summarized after the interview are: cognitive evaluation of the current situation of learning motivation,factors affecting learning motivation,suggestions and strategies for improving learning motivation.Conclusion1.Higher vocational nursing students’ learning motivation is a little bit lower than previous study,with strong learning needs and motivation,but the score of learning interest dimension is the lowest,on the whole,the dimensions of learning motivation are unbalanced;2.Among the individual factors grade level,family support degree,care about grades,learning-weariness,perception of the relationship between the need for a career out of work after graduation and the nurse patient relationship in the profession has a significant effect on the learning motivation of nursing students;3.“Learning motivation,autonomous learning ability,and the quality of evaluation of classroom teaching by nursing teachers” all have a significant impact on the learning dynamics of nursing students;4.Vocational college professional managements,nursing professional teachers,nursing counselors and nursing students about the cognitive evaluation of nursing students learning motivation level have positive and negative,and multiple factors such as professional cognition have an impact on learning motivation.It is necessary for nursing students,teachers,counselors,parents and schools to jointly improve the learning motivation of nursing students.
