A Study Of Improving Effectiveness Of Ear Points Thumbtack Needling Combining Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction On Treatment Of Primary Sjogren’s Syndrome(Pattern Of Yin Fluid Deficiency)

Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of ear points thumbtack needling combining Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction in the treatment of Primary Sjogren’s syndrome(pattern of yin fluid deficiency),based on the previous study on the treatment of pSS with Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction,aimed at providing new ideas for the treatment of Primary Sjogren’s syndrome.Methods:We selected 66 cases of patients with pSS(pattern of yin fluid deficiency)who met the inclusion criteria;and in a randomized controlled way,divided them into two groups: 33 patients in the treatment group(treated with both ear points thumbtack needling and Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction)and the other33 patients in the control group(treated with only Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction).Over a treatment course of 12 weeks,we had observed the changes in the traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,TCM syndrome manifestations efficacy,ESSDAI,ESSPRI,Schirmer test,salivary flow rate test,ESR,Ig G,SAS,SDS,FSS,PSQI in the two groups.Results: The main efficacy index the effective rate of TCM syndrome scores in the acupuncture group was 87.10%,which was better than 73.33% in the TCM group(P<0.05).Except for the ESSDAI score,ESR and PSQI score of the patients in the Chinese medicine group,other indicators in the two groups were improved to varying degrees compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores,ESSPRI score,SAS score,FSS score and PSQI score in the acupuncture-medicine group were lower than those in the traditional Chinese medicine group(P<0.05).The results of Schirmer test,salivary flow rate test,Ig G and SDS scores were not significantly different from those in the traditional Chinese medicine group(P>0.05).There were no serious adverse reactions in the two groups during the study period,and the safety indicators after treatment had no significant changes compared with those before treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:The efficacy of Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction in pSS treatment is confirmed,especially in reducing TCM syndrome scores,relieving dry mouth and eyes,regulating immunity and improving mood,with no severe adverse effects observed.When ear points thumbtack needling was combined with Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction,the effective rate of TCM syndrome manifestations significantly increased with reduced TCM syndrome scores and ESSPRI scores,as well as improved depression,fatigue and sleep,demonstrating its advantages in the treatment of pSS.As a safe and effective therapy for pSS,ear points thumbtack needling in combination with Qing Zao Bu Jin Decoction is worth being popularized clinically.
