Abstract/Summary:
Objective:(1)To understand the status quo of health literacy, discharge readiness and quality of life of young and middle-aged stroke patients;(2)To investigate the effects of general data on health literacy and discharge readiness of young and middle-aged stroke patients;(3)The correlation between health literacy, discharge readiness and quality of life in young and middle-aged stroke patients was analyzed to provide reference for improving discharge readiness and quality of life in young and middle-aged stroke patients. Methods:This study was a descriptive survey, using questionnaire survey.Convenience sampling was used to select young and middle-aged inpatients diagnosed with stroke for the first time from March 2021 to January 2022 in the encephalopathy Department(three wards)of a Class A hospital in Guangxi.Using general data questionnaire, health literacy scale stroke, stroke patients discharged from hospital readiness scale and quality of life scale for stroke in young and middle-aged cerebral stroke patients in general information, health literacy, discharge readiness and investigate the quality of life, double sorting, and applies the related data of Excel to import SPSS26.0version software for statistical analysis. The status of general information, health literacy, discharge readiness and quality of life were described by means + standard deviation, frequency and percentage.T test,an OVA and multiple regression were used to explore the influencing factors of health literacy and discharge readiness.Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between health literacy, discharge readiness and quality of life of patients.Wen Zhonglin’s mediating effect test was used to analyze the mediating effect of health literacy on discharge readiness and quality of life.Results:(1)A total of 290 young and middle-aged patients with stroke were investigated, including 184 males(63.4%)and 106 females(36.6%).In the age stratified group,105 cases(36.2%)were aged from 18 to 44 years old,and 185 cases(63.8%)were aged from 45 to 59 years old.The disease types were ischemic stroke in 169 cases(58.4%)and hemorrhagic stroke in 121cases(41.6%).(2)The overall score of health literacy in young and middle-aged stroke patients was(72.93±6.48),which was in the middle level.Multiple linear regression analysis: gender, age, years of education, residence, family income, caregivers, and complications were the influencing factors of health literacy(P < 0.001,adjusted R2 = 0.622),which jointly explained 62.2% of the total variation of the equation.(3)The overall score of discharge readiness of young and middle-aged stroke patients was(95.27±7.55)points,and the average score of items was(3.32±0.25)points,which was in the middle level.Multiple linear regression analysis: seven independent variables including age, years of education, monthly family income, caregivers, marital status, legacy dysfunction, and length of stay were the influencing factors of discharge readiness(P < 0.001,adjusted R2 = 0.52),which jointly explained 52% of the total variation of the equation.(4)The total score of quality of life one month after discharge was157.27±17.35;Total quality of life score at 3 months after discharge(170.78±10.99).(5)The health literacy of young and middle-aged stroke patients was positively correlated with the degree of discharge readiness and the correlation between each dimension, and the correlation coefficient was(r=0.260~0.856,P< 0.01);The health literacy of young and middle-aged stroke patients was positively correlated with the quality of life at discharge and each dimension, and the correlation coefficient was(r = 0.163~0.840,P < 0.01).Discharge readiness of young and middle-aged stroke patients was positively correlated with quality of life at discharge and various dimensions(r =0.295~0.682,P < 0.01).(6)Health literacy was a mediator between discharge readiness and quality of life in young and middle-aged stroke patients, and the mediating effect was 23.6%.Conclusion:(1)The health literacy of young and middle-aged stroke patients was in the middle level, while gender, age, years of education, place of residence, family income, caregivers and complications were the influencing factors of health literacy.(2)Discharge readiness of young and middle-aged stroke patients was in the middle level, age, years of education, monthly family income, caregivers, marital status, legacy dysfunction, length of stay were the influencing factors of discharge readiness.(3)The quality of life of young and middle-aged stroke patients was at a moderate level.(4)Health literacy was positively correlated with discharge readiness in young and middle-aged stroke patients, and discharge readiness was positively correlated with quality of life.(5)The health literacy and discharge readiness of stroke patients had a positive predictive effect on the quality of life of the patients, and the health literacy played a partial intermediary role in the relationship between discharge readiness and quality of life.
