Objective: With China’s rapid economic development in recent years, the overall trend of China’s food industry is good, but some illegal businesses blindly pursue profits, resulting in a number of food safety accidents caused by food-borne pathogen pollution, affecting people’s quality of life and national social development. In this study, the basic situation of food-borne disease-related literature was analyzed by metrology method, and the research hotspots of food-borne diseases at home and abroad were compared and analyzed. The development of different topics was revealed by strategic coordinate map and other visual methods,in order to provide more practical references and suggestions for relevant personnel.Method: Based on the literatures related to foodborne diseases collected by CNKI and Web of Science as data sources, the hot topics and development of the research were determined by using the methods of co-word analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis and strategic coordinate analysis for high-frequency keywords. Results: Through the selection of 74 high-frequency keywords,8 research hotspots are formed in domestic foodborne diseases, which are as follows: Food poisoning accidents and related legal issues, disease burden of public health problems, monitoring of foodborne pathogenic bacteria, application of HACCP in food safety management, epidemiological characteristics and influencing factors of food safety events, infectious diseases related to food contaminants, detection of pathogenic bacteria, food safety supervision.Foodborne pathogen surveillance and food safety supervision are the core and mature topics of foodborne disease research in China.Visual analysis of strategic coordinates shows that the core and mature topics in domestic foodborne disease research include foodborne pathogenic bacteria surveillance and food safety supervision, while emerging topics include disease burden under public health problems,food-contamination-related infectious diseases and HACCP application in food safety management.A total of 73 high-frequency keywords were selected to form 7 research hotspots, including listeria research,Salmonella research,food-borne pathogenic bacteria detection,Escherichia coli research, campylobacter research,food-borne disease surveillance and food safety risk assessment.Visual analysis of strategic coordinates shows that foodborne disease surveillance and food safety risk assessment are core and mature topics in foodborne disease research abroad, and emerging topics include salmonella and Escherichia coli research. Conclusions: In recent years, there are many studies on foodborne pathogenic bacteria such as Listeria,Salmonella,Escherichia coli and campylobacter in foreign countries. However, there is still a certain distance between China and developed countries in terms of monitoring capacity and detection technology, and the relatively mature research system still stays at the level of risk management and regulatory laws.It is necessary to improve the detection level of foodborne pathogens, perfect the monitoring network and strengthen the active monitoring.
