| 1 BackgroundThe Education Department of Guangdong Province issued the Opinions on "The Implementation of the Credit System in Ordinary Institutions of Higher Learning" in 2014,As a result,the complete credit system has been further developed rapidly.The implementation of the complete credit system no longer united college students’ life and learning rhythm,However,quite a number of college students tend to lack self management ability and cannot maintain a healthy lifestyle.This change of learning and life pace will bring great impact and challenges to college students’ psychology.Previous studies on sleep hygiene of college students mostly focus on sleep quality and sleep disorders,but there are few researches on sleep behaviors from a psychological perspective.In 2014,Kroese introduced procrastination into the field of sleep and proposed the concept of bedtime procrastination for the first time,which interpreted the phenomenon of individuals staying up at night from a psychological perspective.Bedtime procrastination is an important cause of sleep deprivation,which can cause serious harm to physical and mental health.At present,the related research on bedtime procrastination is still in its infancy in China,and there is a lack of literature reports on the status quo and influencing factors of college students’ bedtime procrastination under the background of complete credit system,as well as accurate measurement and evaluation tools.2 ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to translate the English version of Bedtime Procrastination Scale into Chinese and test its reliability and validity among Chinese college students,in order to provide an accurate and effective research tool for studying the phenomenon of college students going to bed late,and to investigate the current situation of college students’ bedtime procrastination under the background of complete credit system,and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide reference for college students to develop good sleep habits and maintain physical and mental health.3 Methods3.1 Cross-cultural adaption of BPSAfter permission,the Brislin translation model was used to translate and revise the scale.With the assistance of teachers,the researcher conveniently selected 200 college students and completed the data collection through the WJX platform during the break time.The psychometric characteristics of the Chinese version of the Bedtime procrastination scale were evaluated by factor analysis,content validity,internal consistency test and retest reliability.3.2 Cross-sectional studyTo investigate the current situation of college students’ bedtime procrastination and analyze its influencing factors.Objects inclusion criteria:① Students in college with complete Complete credit system;②Accommodation in school;③Those who fill in this questionnaire voluntarily;④ People who use smart phones on a daily basis.Exclusion criteria:①interns working outside;② Short-term exchange learners in school;③Foreign students.A total of 1051 college students were randomly sampled by grade and class using general information questionnaire,loneliness scale,satisfaction with life scale,mobile phone addiction index and bedtime procrastination scale.4 Results4.1 Reliability and validity test of the Chinese version of BPSThe CR values of each item of the Chinese version of BPS ranged from 8.824 to 18.649(P<0.05),indicating that the scale had good discrimination.The correlation coefficients between each item and the scale ranged from 0.583 to 0.813(P<0.05’),suggesting that the items were consistent with the scale.The Cronbach’s α coefficient of the scale was 0.887,indicating that the scale had good consistency.Both I-CVI and S-CVI reached 1.00,indicating that the scale had good content validity.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that χ2/df was 2.340,RMESA was 0.082,GFI was 0.934,SRMR was 0.0431,CFI was 0.956,IFI was 0.956,and TLI was 0.941,indicating that the model fitting was good,and the structure validity was good.4.2 Status quo and influencing factors of bedtime procrastination among independent college student under the background of complete credit systemThe average score of BPS was(30.20±6.24).Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that gender,health status,academic performance,self-assessment of academic stress,life satisfaction,feeling anxious and Lost,productivity loss and inability to control carving entered the regression equation(P<0.05),explaining 22.8%of the total variation.Mobile phone addiction plays a partial mediating role between loneliness and bedtime procrastination,and the mediating effect accounted for 32.33%of the total effect.5 Conclusions5.1 The Chinese version of BPS has good reliability and validity and can be used for the measurement of bedtime procrastination among college students.5.2 Under the background of complete credit system,college students’ bedtime procrastination is above medium level;college students who were female,poor health,poor academic performance,high academic pressure,low life satisfaction,high feeling anxious and lost,productivity loss,inability to control carving of mobile phone addiction were more likely to delay bedtime.Loneliness can predict bedtime procrastination through mobile phone addiction.Educator should pay attention to the mental health and carry out health promotion at different levels to reduce the phenomenon of bedtime procrastination among college students. |
