| Objective:To compare the efficacy of the modified Brisson procedure and the Sugita procedure for the treatment of concealed penis(CP).Methods:The clinical data of 78 patients who underwent the modified Brisson procedure and the Sugita procedure in our hospital from 2011.01 to 2021.10 were retrospectively analyzed, and they were divided into two groups according to the surgical methods, including 40 patients in the modified Brisson group(group A),aged 3.1-14.2 years old, with an average age of 6.7 years;38 cases in the Sugita operation group(group B),aged 3.2-14.1 years, with an average age of 6.5 years, were compared in terms of operative time, increased length of penis after operation, regression time of foreskin oedema, and satisfaction, using SPSS26.0 for statistical analysis.Results:40 cases in group A and 38 cases in group B were followed up.The incisions of both groups healed normally and were discharged from the hospital. No postoperative wound bleeding or flap necrosis occurred. The satisfaction were similar between two groups, and there was no statistical difference(P=0.677).The postoperative penile length increased significantly in both groups compared with the preoperative length, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The increased length of penis by both procedures was similar, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The mean operative time of group A was(59.65±7.19)minutes.and group B was(47.92±6.87)minutes,The operation time of group A was longer than that of group B(P<0.05).The regression time of foreskin oedema in group A(9.28±3.59)days and in group B(16.39±6.36)days was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The effect of the modified Brisson and the Sugita on penile lengthening and satisfaction was similar. The Sugita was easy to operate, and the operation time was short, but the regression time of foreskin oedema was significantly longer than that of the modified Brisson. |
