Objective: The aim of this work is to systematize and study Yu Jiayan’s academic thought on qihua, and to combine it with the Treatise on Typhoid to explain the academic characteristics of Yu Jiayan’s theory of qihua in relation to the six qi pathogenic doctrines of cold, warmth, heat, summer, dampness, and dryness, and to provide corresponding theoretical and pharmacological references for the clinical practice of external and internal injuries in Chinese medicine. Methods: The theoretical literature research method is used.In the theoretical research part, the main object of the study is the "Shang Lun",the "Law of Medical Doctrine",the "Yuyi Cao" and the related medical treatises of later generations, and the biography of Yu Jiayan, his writings, his theoretical ideas of qihua, his system of diagnosis and treatment, his diagnostic features, and his treatment methods. In the part of literature research, the research results of ancient and modern medical practitioners on Yu Jiayan’s medical system are compiled and discussed with the China Knowledge Network, and the academic connotation and clinical value of Yu Jiayan’s qihua theory system are explored in depth with the three books of Yu Jiayan. Results: In this paper,we systematically analyze Yu Jiayan’s academic thought, comprehensively summarize the origin, characteristics, and application of Yu Chang’s qihua academic thought, and explore his unique theoretical perspectives.Through the collation and study of relevant literature,it completes the study of the academic connotation of Yu Jiayan’s qihua thought: the theory of the original standing qiheng, the theory of only qi,the theory of the atmosphere in the chest, the theory of qihua rhythm, the view of qihua positive and evil, the view of the body and use of yin and yang, and the view of Shanghe. On this basis,he summarized the research on clinical treatment characteristics under the guidance of Yu Jiayan’s thought of qihua, focusing on the theory of yin disease and Yu Jiayan’s theory of autumn dryness, elaborating the etiology and pathogenesis of cold symptoms in stroke, and enriching and improving the theory of dryness in TCM.He summarized the eight difficulties in the use of medicine for stroke cold and refined the five methods of treating dryness. He analyzed the concept and clinical application of the formula of Yu Jiayan’s Qing dryness saving lung soup to lower, clear, moisten and tonify. Conclusion: 1.This study systematically collated Yu Jiayan’s biography, writings, theory of the atmosphere in the chest, yin and yang view, evil and positive view, treating middle cold, theory of autumn dryness and other academic ideas, and improved the study of Yu Jiayan’s qihua thought system.2.For the first time,he proposed to study the clinical value of the eight difficulties in the use of medicine in Yu Jiayin’s cold, analyzed the sequence of the six prescriptions and the law of medicine in the treatment of stroke cold in Yu Jiayin’s cold, and suggested the treatment method to make up for the unpreparedness of stroke cold in the Treatise on Yin Diseases. It reveals the sequence of treatment before and after stroke cold, and the rule of using medicine to match yin and yang. The above will provide useful experience for the clinical treatment of cold in stroke.3.For the first time,he discusses the treatment concept and clinical experience of miscellaneous diseases in Yu Jiayan’s theory of qi-chemistry:the placement of meso-classes to submerge yang, the use of great drunkenness and great labor to bring out the understanding of yang and yin and true yang, the pathogenesis of yin and cold, and the treatment concept of breaking ao-li-ji and refining stones to mend the sky.During and after the disease, the spirit of internal guarding, the accumulation of essence for self-strengthening,the accumulation of qi for self-protection,and the accumulation of god for self-king are the concepts of regulation and protection, which emphasize the importance of the strength of kidney qi in the occurrence, treatment and prognosis of the disease and suggest that attention should be paid to the health of kidney qi in the treatment of the disease.
