Objective By observing the clinical efficacy of self-designed growth patch in the treatment of nutritional short stature in children(spleen deficiency syndrome)and its influence on fecal short chain fatty acids,it provides effective TCM intervention means and theoretical basis for the treatment of nutritional short stature by integrated traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine.Methods A total of 120 patients clinically diagnosed as nutritional short stature(spleen deficiency syndrome)in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2020 to June 2022 were selected and divided into treatment group and control group according to the principle of random grouping,with 60 cases in each group.Before treatment,fecal samples of 30 cases in each group were collected for detection of short-chain fatty acid content(SCFA).The treatment group was given a self-designed growth patch for external use,while the control group was given Jianbaolin granules orally.After6 months of treatment,the improvement of spleen deficiency syndrome between the two groups was compared,and the height and weight of the two groups were reviewed,and the proportion of fecal short-chain fatty acid content was reviewed.All clinical data were statistically processed.Results1.A total of 120 children were included,8 cases were excluded,57 cases were in the treatment group and 55 cases in the control group with complete data.There was no statistical difference in average age,gender composition,height,weight,spleen deficiency syndrome score and fecal short-chain fatty acid content ratio between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).2.Spleen deficiency syndrome score after 6 month of treatment: There were statistical differences between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05),and there were statistical differences between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).3.Height and weight: 6 months after treatment,there were statistical differences between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05),and there were statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05);At6 months after treatment,there were statistical differences between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05),but no statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05).4.After 6 months of treatment,there were statistical differences in the proportion of fecal short-chain fatty acid acetic acid and butyric acid before and after treatment in the treatment group(P<0.05),while there were no statistical differences in the proportion of fecal short-chain fatty acid in the control group(P>0.05);After treatment,there were statistically significant differences in acetic acid and butyric acid between the two groups(P<0.05),but no statistically significant differences in propionic acid,isobutyric acid,valeric acid and isovaleric acid between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion1.After 6 month of treatment with "Self-designed growth Patch" and "Jianbaoling Tablet",clinical spleen deficiency syndrome scores were improved in both the treatment group and the control group,and the improvement degree of "self-designed growth patch" was better,indicating that it was effective in improving the symptoms of spleen deficiency syndrome such as loss of appetite,body weight,abdominal distension and loose stool in children.2.Both "Self-designed growth patch" and "Jianbaoling Tablet" can increase the height and improve the low weight of children,and the effect of "self-designed growth patch" is better than that of "Jianbaoling tablet".3.After 6 months of treatment with "self-created growth Patch",the proportion of fecal short-chain fatty acids changed significantly,among which acetic acid content decreased significantly and butyric acid proportion increased significantly."Jianbaoling Tablet" had no effect on the proportion of acetic acid and butyric acid in fecal short-chain fatty acids,and there was a statistical difference between the two groups.There was no significant difference in the contents of propionic acid,isobutyric acid,valeric acid and isovaleric acid between the two groups before and after treatment.These results indicated that the "self-designed growth patch" could change the proportion of fecal short-chain fatty acid acetic acid and butyric acid,and improve the intestinal microecological environment of children. |
