| Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of the treatment of tension headache with liver-heat upheaval in Headache Tang, and to provide a new idea of Chinese medicine for the diagnosis and treatment of tension headache with liver-heat upheaval and anxiety and depression. Methods: Eighty patients with tension headache who met the inclusion criteria were selected for the study.Using the random number table method, patients eligible for the study were entered into the control and treatment groups according to the odd and even numbers obtained by drawing lots,with40 patients in each group. In the treatment group, the patients were given Toutongtang formula granules for 14 consecutive days.1 dose of the formula granules was brewed with 300 ml of boiling water and divided into two doses of 150 ml each, taken orally after meals. In the control group, patients were given Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules,5mg,once a night for 14 days.Patients’ headache was evaluated before treatment,14 days after treatment and 1 month after treatment respectively by scoring method, including the number of headache levels, duration of headache, number of headaches, concomitant symptoms, and calculating the total headache score, recording patients’ HAMD score and HAMA score to evaluate patients’ anxiety and depression status. The patient’s TCM evidence score was recorded to evaluate the patient’s TCM evidence status. The percentage reduction of the total headache score was calculated to determine the effective rate of treatment with Headache Tang and Flunarizine Capsules, and the percentage reduction of the TCM syndrome score was calculated to determine the effective rate of the TCM syndrome in the two groups. Results: 1.Comparison of the total integral efficacy of headache:Comparison between groups, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05),suggesting that the clinical efficacy of Headache Tang is better than that of the control group in the treatment of tension headache caused by liver-heat upheaval. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the scores of concomitant symptoms 14 days after treatment and 1 month after treatment(P>0.05),and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the headache levels, duration of headache, number of headaches(P<0.05).2.Comparison of anxiety and depression improvement: After treatment, the TCM evidence scores of both groups decreased to different degrees, and the decrease in the TCM evidence scores of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group. The difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.001).The effective rate of TCM symptoms was 92.5% in the treatment group and 77.5% in the control group. The difference between groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment group was better in improving the TCM symptoms.3.Comparison of TCM efficacy scores: The TCM efficacy scores of both groups decreased to different degrees after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant when compared between the groups(P<0.001).The effective rate of TCM symptoms was 92.5% in the treatment group and 77.5% in the control group. The difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment group was better in improving the TCM symptoms. Conclusion: By comparing the total headache score,HAMD score,HAMA score,TCM syndrome score and effective rate of the treatment group with those of the control group,it can be seen that both groups have certain efficacy in the treatment of tension headache, and the efficacy of the treatment group is more obvious than that of the control group, indicating that Toutongtang is more advantageous in the treatment of tension headache of liver-heat upheaval type, which provides a new Chinese medicine treatment idea for the clinical treatment of tension headache. |
