| Objective: To explore the occurrence and development of mental behavior in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)patients and the possible risk factors related to it,so as to provide reference and ideas for clinical treatment of AD patients with abnormal mental behavior. Methods: The study subjects were 100 AD patients admitted to the outpatient and inpatient departments of mental psychology department of Dalian Wafangdian Fourth Hospital from November 2021 to October 2022.The patient’s age, gender, duration of disease, family history, degree of white matter disease(WML),blood pressure, blood glucose, blood lipid, homocysteine(Hcy)level and other medical history and relevant data were collected according to the Neuropsychiatric Inventory(NPI)The clinical dementia rating scale(CDR)was used to evaluate the psychological status of AD patients, and the data obtained were statistically analyzed using SPSS20.0 to study the risk factors that may lead to abnormal mental behavior in AD patients.Results:1.Among the 100 selected AD patients,31 were mild AD,49 were moderate AD,and 20 were severe AD.2.Among the 100 AD patients,85 patients were accompanied with psycho behavioral symptoms,of which apathy was the most common, followed by sleep/nocturnal behavioral disorder, abnormal motor behavior, aggressive agitation, emotional instability, anxiety behavior, delusional behavior, bad mood,Disinhibition, hallucination, and euphoria;Loss of appetite or eating disorders.3.The incidence of mental and behavioral symptoms in AD patients is 85.00%,of which 64.00% are patients with 1-3 types of mental and behavioral symptoms,and21.00% are patients with ≥ 4 types of mental and behavioral symptoms. There were significant differences among AD patients with different ages, living conditions, course of disease, sleeping conditions,WMH grades, severity of disease, family history of AD,and complications such as diabetes, hypertension, homocysteine, hyperlipidemia, and so on,showing mental and behavioral symptoms(all P<0.05);However,there was no significant difference in the occurrence of mental and behavioral symptoms among AD patients of different genders, races, educational levels, and marital status, with P>0.05.4.The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed a significant correlation between age, residential status, disease course,WMH grade, severity of the condition, hyperhomocysteinemia, and the presence of BPSD in AD patients(P values of 0.002,0.011,0.001,0.014,0.006,0.008,respectively).Conclusions:1.The incidence of AD with BPSD is high, and apathy is one of the most common psychological and behavioral symptoms.2.The incidence rate of BPSD in patients with moderate and severe AD is higher than that in patients with mild AD.3.Age,residential status, course of disease,WMH grade, severity of the condition, and hyperhomocysteinemia are independent risk factors for AD patients with psychiatric and behavioral symptoms. |
