ObjectivesTo investigate the status quo of relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU,analyze its influencing factors, and latent profile analysis method was used to explore the potential categories and characteristics of relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU,so as to provide a theoretical basis for reducing the level of relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU.MethodsIt is a cross-sectional study. The convenient sampling method was used to select the family members of 208 patients transferred from comprehensive ICU to general wards in a tertiary hospital in Shanghai from February 2022 to December 2022 as the research objects.Survey tools include the general information questionnaire of patients and their family members,ICU Family Relocation Stress Scale(FRSS),Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale-Family Member Form(MUIS-FM),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC).SPSS27.0 software was used for data analysis, including descriptive analysis, independent sample t-test,Pearson correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, variance analysis and chi-square test.Mplus8.3 software was used for latent profile analysis(LPA).Results1.The results of descriptive analysis showed that the highest score for relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU was 45,the lowest score was 19,and the total score was(32.36±4.91),which was at a moderate level, the score of cognitive of general ward environment and nursing was(13.78±2.12),the score of cognitive of critically ill patients was(6.63±1.08),the score of cognitive of separation anxiety was(7.91 ±1.93),and the score of cognitive of transfer was(4.04±0.82).The score of illness uncertainty was(77.63 ± 18.35),the score of perceived social support was(56.37±14.12),and the score of resilience was(56.39±16.14).2.The results of the univariate analysis showed that the relocation stress scores of families of patients transferred from the ICU were statistically significant with family members’ gender, age, education level, relationship with patients, monthly income, length of patients admission to the ICU and the way of patients admission to the ICU(P<0.05).3.The Pearson correlation analysis showed that the relocation stress of families of patients transferred from the ICU was positively correlated with illness uncertainty(r=0.853,P<0.01)and negatively correlated with perceived social support and resilience(r=-0.873,P<0.01;r=-0.878,P<0.01).4.The multiple linear regression analysis showed that the families’ age, illness uncertainty, perceived social support, resilience and length of patients admission to the ICU were the influencing factors of relocation stress of families(P<0.05),and this accounted for 84.0%of the variance in relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU.5.The results of the latent profile analysis showed that the relocation stress of families of patients transferred from ICU could be divided into three potential categories:low level of relocation stress group(15.4%),medium level of relocation stress group(52.4%),high level of relocation stress group(32.2%).Conclusionsl.The level of relocation stress among families of patients transferred from the ICU was moderate. This suggests that health care professionals should pay more attention to the psychological status of the families of patients transferred from the ICU.2.The illness uncertainty, perceived social support, resilience of families of patients transferred from the ICU were at a moderate level.Medical staff should take targeted measures based on the families’ condition.3.Families’ age, illness uncertainty’ perceived social support, resilience and length of patients admission to the ICU are important factors affecting relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU.Health care professionals should provide relevant information and psychological support to the families,so as to effectively reduce the level of relocation stress of families.4.The three potential categories of relocation stress among families of patients transferred from ICU are heterogeneous.Medical staff should formulate individualized interventions for each category of family members according to the characteristics of each category of family members,so as to minimize the relocation stress of families.
