Objectives To observe and compare the intervention effect of 4 weeks and 8 weeks of neuromuscular joint facilitation(NJF)and stability training on young patients with functional ankle instability(FAI),in order to provide more effective and reliable treatment basis for FAI patients’ clinical rehabilitation. Methods Seventy-two FAI patients in North China University of Science and Technology from September 2020 to October 2021 were selected by cruamberland ankle instability tool(CAIT).According to computer random number method, they were randomly divided into control group(Group C),stability training group(Group E1)and NJF group(Group E2)with 24 patients in each group.Group C received traditional rehabilitation;Group E1 received stability training on the basis of traditional rehabilitation;Group E2 received NJF manual intervention on the basis of traditional rehabilitation. All three groups trained three times a week on alternate days for eight weeks. Before intervention,4 weeks after intervention and 8 weeks after intervention, dorsiflexion relative peak torque(D-PT),plantarflexion relative peak torque(P-PT),inversion relative peak torque(I-PT)and eversion relative peak torque(E-PT)of ankle in isokinetic centrifugal mode among the three groups of patients was evaluated and compared by Biodex isokinetic test training system;the static balance ability on one foot of patients in the three groups was evaluated and compared by PK254 p balance test and training system;the dynamic balance ability of patients in the three groups was evaluated and compared by star excursion balance test(SEBT);to evaluate and compare CAIT score of patients in the three groups.Excel software was used to input and summarize the observation index values, and SPSS 22.0statistical software was used for data analysis. For normally distributed data,One-way ANOVA was used for inter-group comparison, repeated measure ANOVA was used for intra-group comparison before and after intervention, and paired t-test was used for intragroup comparison between healthy side and affected side;which did not conform to normal distribution were tested by the non-parametric test,Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for inter-group comparison, and the difference was statistically significant with P<0.05.Results 1 Before intervention: there was no statistically significant difference in general data, ankle isokinetic muscle force, static and dynamic balance index and CAIT score among the three groups of FAI patients(P>0.05);the ankle isokinetic muscle force, static and dynamic balance on one foot of affected side was significantly weaker than those of healthy side among the three groups of FAI patients(P<0.05).2 After 4 weeks of intervention: SEBT scores in 8 directions(Anterior,Anterolateral,Lateral,Posterolateral,Posterior,Posteromedial,Medial and Anteromedial)and CAIT store in Group E1 and Group E2 were significantly better than those in Group C(P<0.05);ellipse area of COP and perimeter of COP under the condition of opened eyes and closed eyes in Group E2 were significantly better than those in Group C(P<0.05).3 After 8 weeks of intervention:static balance indexes(average AP speed of COP,average ML speed of COP,ellipse area of COP and perimeter of COP)under the condition of opened eyes and closed eyes,SEBT scores in 8 directions and CAIT store in Group E1 and Group E2 were significantly better than those in Group C(P<0.05);the D-PT,P-PT,I-PT and E-PT of ankle joint at 60°/s and180°/s angular velocity in Group E2 were significantly better than those in Group C and Group E1(P<0.05);SEBT scores(Anterior,Posterolateral,Posteromedial and Anteromedial)and CAIT store in Group E2 were significantly better than those in Group E1(P<0.05).4Intra-group comparison: The D-PT,P-PT,I-PT and E-PT of ankle joint at 60°/s and 180°/s angular velocity, static balance indexes under the condition of opened eyes and closed eyes,SEBT scores in 8 directions and CAIT store in intra-group comparison for pairwise comparison, before intervention, after 4 weeks of intervention and after 8 weeks of intervention, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions 1 Stability training can significantly improve the static and dynamic balance ability of single foot and ankle self-rating scale score of FAI patients.2 NJF can effectively improve the muscle strength of dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, inversion and eversion in patients with FAI,and improve their static and dynamic balance abilities of single foot, ankle self-rating scale score of patients with FAI better than stability training.Figure14;Table19;Reference 107...
