The Chinesization And Application Of English Version Of The Individual Level Abortion Stigma Scale

Aim(1)To culturally debug the individual level abortion stigma scale and form a Chinese version of the individual level abortion stigma scale and test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Individual Level Abortion Stigma Scale.(2)To gain a preliminary understanding of the current status of the stigma level of abortion women in China and its influencing factors.Methods(1)The English version of the individual-level abortion stigma scale was Chineseized following the Brislin translation model,and the Chinese version of the individual-level abortion stigma scale was obtained through forward translation,back translation,expert consultation,and pre-experimentation.Women with abortion who attended a tertiary hospital in Hunan Province from July to December 2021 were sampled by convenience.The general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of the individual-level abortion stigma scale were used to survey the study subjects who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.The reliability of the Chinese version of the individual-level abortion stigma scale was tested in six aspects:content validity,structural validity,convergent validity,discriminant validity,internal reliability and retest reliability.(2)Descriptive statistical analysis was performed on 469 women who had abortion;one-way ANOVA and Multiple linear regression were used to explore the factors influencing individual-level abortion stigma.The survey results were entered using Excel for data entry,and IBM SPSS 26.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 24.0 software were applied for statistical analysis of the data.Results(1)The Chinese version of the individual-level abortion stigma scale was Chineseized following the Brislin translation model,and after three forward and backward translations,comprehensive expert consultation and pre-experimentation,the Chinese version of the individual-level abortion stigma scale was formed,and its structure and scoring method were completely consistent with the original scale.The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that 4 common factors were extracted,with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 78.667%,and the results of validation factor analysis showed that theχ~2/df=1.794,RMSEA=0.058,NFI=0.915,IFI=0.961,TLI=0.954,and CFI=0.960.The content validity index of each entry level is 0.833～1.00,and the mean scale level content validity index is 0.983.The total scale Cronbach’sαcoefficient is 0.942,the split-half reliability was 0.850,and the retest reliability is 0.960.(2)The total score of individual abortion stigma level is(31.68±12.91).One-way ANOVA showed that place of residence is an influential factor for abortion female stigma;multiple linear regression showed that adverse pregnancy and birth history are influential factors for abortion female stigma.Conclusion(1)The Chinese version of the individual-level miscarriage stigma scale has been confirmed to have good reliability and validity in six aspects:content validity,structural validity,convergent validity,differential validity,internal reliability and retest reliability,and is worth promoting.(2)Women with abortion in China still suffer from abortion stigma;place of residence and adverse pregnancy and birth history are factors influencing the stigma of abortion.
