Study On The Influence Of Zhu Danxi On Doctors Of Xin’an

Objective:This paper discusses the influence of Zhu Danxi,a doctor in Yiwu of Zhejiang Province in Yuan Dynasty,on Xin ’an doctors since Ming and Qing Dynasties.It explores the source and evolution of some medical academic thoughts among Xin ’an doctors and makes clear the inheritance and development of Xin ’an Medical Science on Zhu Danxi’s academic thoughts and clinical experience,so as to provide reference and basis for studying the academic development history of Xin ’an medical school.Methods:To identify the Xin’an doctors influenced by Zhu Danxi and their bibliographies by referring to The General Catalogue of Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Anhui,The History of Xin’an Medicine,The Research of Xin’an Medical Sciences,the Examination of Xin’an Famous Doctors,The Examination of Xin’an Famous Doctors and Academic Origins and so on,and classify them according to the age and content.Study the works of Zhu Danxi and Xin’an physicians influenced by Zhu Danxi and related literature and materials,systematically and comprehensively extract and analyze the medical theories and clinical cases of Zhu Danxi and Xin’an physicians influenced by Zhu Danxi,analyze and conclude from the aspects of theory,law,prescription and medicine,extract and clarify their common theories and their own characteristic viewpoints and theories,summarize the academic thoughts and clinical experience of each physician.Clarify the academic origin and academic innovation of Xin’an doctors influenced by Zhu Danxi.Results: Zhu Danxi had a deep influence on Xin ’an doctors,among which 13 doctors were the most representative.They were influenced by Zhu Danxi and carried forward and gave play to the Danxi theory,as follows.1.Cheng Chong and Fang Guang sorted out and collated the Danxi Method and the Danxi Method Supplement respectively,which is of great significance to the spread of Danxi theory.2.On the basis of Danxi’s "Theory of excess of Yang and deficiency of Yin" and "Theory of mutual fire",Wang Ji put forward influential academic views such as "Theory of Yingwei" and "double supplement of Radix Astragalus";Influenced by Danxi,Sun Yikui wrote Articles on Fire and Discussion on Fire in Danxi,which further elaborated the theory of fire.On the basis of Danxi theory,Luo Zhouyan first proposed the division of "Yuan Yin" and "Yuan Yang".According to Danxi’s "fire theory",Cheng Guopeng made a "fire word explanation",put forward the theory of thief fire and son fire,and summed up the four methods of keeping away thief fire and the four methods of raising son fire;Wu Cheng inherited Danxi’s method of nourishing Yin,learned the academic thoughts of other doctors,established the theory of Spleen Yin and proposed nine methods of regulating spleen Yin.3.Fang Guang inherited Danxi’s experience in the treatment of phlegm syndrome and was able to explain the unoccurrence of Danxi in the treatment of many miscellaneous diseases.Wang Ji,Yu Wuting,Sun Yikui,Wu Zhenglun,Luo Zhouyan,Cheng Lun,Cheng Yandao,Hong Zhengli,Cheng Guopeng,Wu Cheng,and Cheng Wenyou all practiced the Danxi method of treating miscellaneous diseases,which was used flexibly and successfully.4.Wu Zhenglun absorbed the experience of Danxi’s health maintenance,advocated the adjustment of emotions,control of the house,pay attention to diet and daily living.Cheng Guopeng inherited the gist of Danxi’s health preservation and wrote the Four Essentials of Life Preservation,advocating temperance of diet and desire.5.Xin’an physicians,such as Wang Ji,Luo Zhouyan,Hong Zhengli,Wu Cheng,Cheng Wenyou,have quoted Danxi’s medical theory,clinical experience and medical cases in their works,which fully reflects their admiration for Danxi’s theory.6.Doctors such as Fang Guang,Wang Ji,Yu Wuting,Luo Zhouyan,Cheng Lun and Cheng Yandao were deeply influenced by Danxi and had their own unique effects.7.Both Wang Ji and Yu Wuting were committed to the Danxi pulse diagnosis method.Hong Zhengli summarized the experience of treating gynecological diseases and syndromes in Danxi hospital,which was characterized by its unique clinical characteristics and its emphasis on the combination of four diagnoses,examination and identification;Although Cheng Wenyou advocated Danxi postpartum qi and blood treatment,but the clinical treatment of postpartum disease dare to break through the routine,with the treatment of the syndrome.Conclusion: Zhu Danxi’s academic thought and clinical experience had a great influence on Xin’an doctors,and Danxi’s theory promoted the development of Xin’an medicine.The doctors in Xin’an who were influenced by it all highly respected Danxi theory.Some of them edited Danxi’s works and actively promoted Danxi theory.Some doctors combine their own practical experience,give play to form a unique academic idea.Thus realized the inheritance and development of regional medical schools and exchanges and mutual learning.
