Objective From the perspective of Yunqi theory, this paper make a brand-new collation and exporation on Wang Ji’s works on Yunqi and acupuncture.Through an in-depth study of the contents related to Yunqi and acupuncture theory in Wang Ji’s Yunqi Yilan and Zhenjiu Wendui, this study will try to grasp the academic thoughts on acupuncture and moxibustion and Yunqi theory of Xin’an physician Wang Ji in a more comprehensive and profound way.Furthermore,to promote the theoretical research on Yunqi and acupuncture and moxibustion, and provide reference for clinical practice.MethodFirst, sort out what we know, mainly including the academic thoughts of acupuncture and moxibustion based on Wang Ji’s Zhenjiu Wendui and Waike Lili, and the academic thoughts of Yunqi based on Yunqi Yilan through the horizontal research and exploratory sorting of Wang Ji’s works,as well as the vertical sorting of modern research results of Wang Ji’s academic thoughts.Second, explore the unknown, which means the new exploration and research of Wang Ji’s academic thought that has not been published through following three aspects:(1)the deep and complex theory of Yunqi in Yunqi Yilan;(2)the Yunqi theory in Zhenjiu Wendui;(3)the Yunqi theory in Du Su Wen Chao.Third, interpret new knowledge.Through the above exploratory research, and with the help of the new cognition of the field of Wuyun Liuqi in recent years, this paper tries to interprets and evaluates the Yunqi thinking in Wang Ji’s academic thoughts on acupuncture and moxibustion,so as to further improve and develop Wang Ji’s academic thought system and academic evaluation on him.ConclusionWang Ji compiled classic works such as Neijing,Nanjing and completed his Yunqi Yilan and Zhenjiu Wendui, which almost include all the research essence of Yunqi theory and acupunture theory before the mid-Ming Dynasty. He callated mistakes, criticized malpractice, replenished with his own opinions in these works which were concise but not simple, brief but comprehensive. He compounded to make theories clearer, drew to reveal main points and poetized to make theories easier to remember. He advocated that clinical practice should abide time principle. He clearly expressed his opposition to the rigid calculation in Yunqi thinking. He explored and traced the origin of the theory of the nonresponsive pulse of South-North azimuth, and made six prescriptions of the Six Qi Main Disease Treatment Example according to the five elements rules. From the diagnosis of pulse, color observation, prescription to acupuncture and moxibustion,he reckoned Yunqi thinking should be put at the first place.Physicians should diagnose, prescribe and treat according to Qi’s position. He stood for the wise should observe the micro and treat earlier than the disease appearance.Wang Ji,played a unique and important role in the medicine history of Wuyun Liuqi and Acupunture, closely combined the Yunqi theory with acupuncture theory. In the past, the academic evaluation of Wang Ji was either that he inherited the history of the academic school of Jin and Yuan Dynasties and then inspired the Ming and Qing Dynasties,or that he was the founder of the Xin’an School of Medicine. However, due to the lack of extensive and profound comparative study on the theoretical system of Yunqi Yilan,Zhenjiu Wendui and other works on Yunqi theory, the only historical evaluation is made on Wang Ji’s accomplishment and academic position in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion and Yunqi. With the continuous exploration and research of Wang Ji’s academic thoughts in the future,it is believed that Wang Ji’s academic status in the history of medicine will be further sublimated. In the past, the elucidation of the theory of Yunqi is relatively weak and even full of misunderstanding.Through the study of Wang Ji’s theory of Yunqi,we find that Xin’an Medicine is also a treasure of the theory of Yunqi, which needs to be further explored in the future,so as to discover more features of Xin ’an Medicine. To further discover and enhance the academic value and historical significance of Xin’an Medicine in the family of Chinese medicine.
