| Objective:A questionnaire was used to understand the current status and influencing factors of self--perceived burden, resilience and post-traumatic growth in stroke patients.Identifying differences in general demographic characteristics of stroke patients between self-perceived burden, resilience and post-traumatic growth.Analysis of the correlation between self-perceived burden, resilience, and post-traumatic growth in a stroke population.Analysis of the mediating variable, resilience,in the mode of action and effect size between self-perceived burden and post-traumatic growth. And,to provide a new perspective to further strengthen patients’ positive psychological experiences and eliminate negative emotions, and to provide an empirical basis for clinical care workers to develop effective interventions in a targeted manner. Methods:In this study, convenience sampling method was adopted to select stroke inpatients in the Department of Encephalopathy of a third-class A hospital in Hefei,Anhui Province from April to November 2022 who met the inclusion criteria of this study as the research objects. The following four instruments were used for quantitative assessment of stroke patients: General Information Questionnaire,Self-Perceived Burden Scale,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Posttraumatic growth inventory.Data analysis was performed using the statistical software SPSS 26.0.The moderating effect of resilience on post-traumatic growth in stroke patients was analyzed using the PROCESS plug-in in SPSS.Results:1.The score of perceived burden of stroke patients was(31.05±9.71)points,among which the influencing factors were different education levels, occupation, medical payment conditions, residence, family income, children’s conditions, main caregivers after stroke, and time of illness with statistical significance.(P<0.05).2.The score of resilience of stroke patients was(64.06±8.87)points,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05)in the subgroups of gender, education level, marital status, occupation, residence, family income, main caregivers after stroke and whether they were combined with chronic diseases.3.The total post-traumatic growth score for stroke patients was(61.22±9.63)points.Stroke patients had statistically significant levels of post-traumatic growth by age, education level, marital status, work status, medical insurance, mental belief, main caregivers after stroke and the time of illness(P<0.05).According to the average score of each dimension of the scale, the order from the largest to the smallest is life perception dimension, self transformation dimension, new possibility, personal strength, and relationship with others.4.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that self-perceived burden, resilience, duration of illness(more than 12 months),working condition(sick leave),age(50 to 59 years old)and main caregivers(other caregivers)after stroke entered the regression equation. The main influencing factors mentioned above were able to explain 42.5% of the total variance of the equation.5.There was a negative correlation between the level of self-perceived burden and the level of resilience(r=-0.147,P<0.05),a negative correlation between the level of self-perceived burden and the level of post-traumatic growth(r=-0.323,P<0.05),and a positive correlation between the level of resilience and the level of post-traumatic growth(r=0.485,P<0.05)in stroke patients.6.Resilience plays a part of mediating role between self-perceived burden and post-traumatic growth, and the mediating effect value is 20.38%.Conclusion:1.The self-perceived burden of stroke patients was at a lower middle level, and the highest dimension was emotional burden. In general information, education level,Occupation, medical payment method, residence, family income, children’s situation, main caregivers after stroke, and duration of illness were the influencing factors of self-perceived burden of stroke patients.2.The resilience of stroke patients is not good.Gender, education level, curren marital status, career, residence, monthly per capita household income main caregivers after stroke and whether suffering from chronic diseases are the influencing factors of resilience of stroke patients.3.Post-traumatic growth in stroke patients was at an intermediate level.Age,education level, curren marital status, work status, types of medical payments, spiritual belief, primary caregivers after stroke and illness time are the influencing factors of posttraumatic growth of stroke patients.4.The level of posttraumatic growth of stroke patients can be negatively predicted by their self-perceived burden and positively predicted by their resilience.5.Resilience of stroke patients plays a partial mediating role in the effect of self-perceived burden on post-traumatic growth. |
