Observation On The Efficacy Of Shiwei Shufeng Tongqiao Granules In The Treatment Of Refractory Sinusitis Of Lung Meridian Wind-heat Type After Operation

Objective: To test the clinical effectiveness of Shiwei Shufeng Tongqiao Granules on postoperative patients with refractory lung meridian type rhinosinusitis.To utilize the unique benefits of Chinese medicine and offer the majority of postoperative patients with refractory rhinosinusitis a new,simple,and efficient way to take the medication.Methods: A total of 60 patients with refractory rhinosinusitis who were admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Lu’an City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and those with rhinogenic symptoms of wind-heat of the lung meridian who were diagnosed by Chinese medicine were divided into two groups,with 30 patients in each group,at random.This created a treatment group and a control group.Both patient groups underwent nasal endoscopic contouring surgery,and the treatment group also received oral dosages of Shiwei Shufeng Tongqiao Granules.Moreover,conventional postoperative medicine was given to both groups.There were 4 cycles total,with each cycle lasting 7 days.In this study,nasal endoscopy and the Lund-Kennedy quantitative rating scale will be used to assess patients’ subjective symptoms and nasal mucosal morphology.Fasting venous blood will also be taken from two groups of all patients,and hs-CRP and IL-1 will be tested,data will be recorded,and comparisons will be made.Results:(1)Patients in both groups experienced a significant reduction in symptoms,signs,total score,hs-CRP levels,and IL-1 levels after treatment compared to before treatment(P<0.05);(2)the effect of the treatment regimen was significant in both groups(P<0.05);(3)the treatment group improved nasal congestion symptoms and edema signs more than the control group(P<0.05);(4)the treatment group had lower hs-CRP and IL-1 levels than the control group(P<0.05).(5)The recurrence rate in the treatment group was considerably lower than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Shiwei Shufeng Tongqiao Granules are superior to the control group in reducing inflammation;(2)Shiwei Shufeng Tongqiao Granules have the effect of reducing recurrence in refractory sinusitis;and(3)Shiwei Shufeng Tongqiao Granules are clinically effective in the treatment of refractory sinusitis(wind-heat type of lung meridian).
