BackgroundThe outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia(" COVID-19 " for short)in early2020 forced the cancellation of offline teaching activities in many schools.Under the call of "no classes,no classes,no classes",most universities have adopted online teaching activities.It is worth studying how students perceive this online-oriented teaching method,especially the students majoring in clinical medicine with practical characteristics.ObjectiveTo understand the cognition of online teaching of clinical medicine students in a university during the epidemic period,analyze the possible differences,explore the reasons,and put forward corresponding suggestions,so as to provide support for improving the quality of online teaching.MethodsA convenient sampling survey method was adopted to select 5 grade 2016 to 2021 clinical medicine undergraduates from a medical university in Anhui as survey objects,and questionnaires were distributed and collected through the questionnaire Star platform.Chi-square test was used to analyze the cognition of clinical medicine students to online teaching during the epidemic.Results1.During the epidemic period,there were significant gender differences in medical students’ ability to keep up with the learning progress of online courses,the completion of online and offline teaching assignments,the satisfaction of online teaching and the evaluation of online teaching effect(Ps < 0.05).There were no significant gender differences in the comparison of the effect of online and offline teaching and whether online teaching was expected to continue after the epidemic(Ps > 0.05).2.During the epidemic period,medical students showed significant grade differences in terms of whether they could keep up with the learning progress of online courses,the completion of online and offline teaching assignments,the satisfaction of online teaching,the evaluation of online teaching effect,the comparison of online and offline teaching effect,and whether they hoped to continue online teaching after the epidemic(Ps < 0.05).ConclusionsDuring the epidemic period,there were differences in cognition of online teaching among medical students of different genders and grades.
