Objective:To observe and investigate the contrast the difference in the effectiveness of clinical treatment between magnetic round plum needle tapping method combined with acupuncture and conventional acupuncture for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, and study a more efficacious treatment for the same. Methods:Sixty patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, who fulfilled the inclusion criteria for this project, were chosen from the patients who came to our hospital, and randomly divided into two groups,a treatment group(combining magnetic round plum needle tapping method with acupuncture group)and a control group(conventional acupuncture group),each with 30 patients. The control group was given conventional acupuncture treatment,as detailed in the "13th Five Year Plan" textbook "Science of Acupuncture and Moxibustion",to select acupoints for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. The treatment group, meanwhile, was based on conventional acupuncture and combined with magnetic round plum needle tapping therapy. Both groups were treated once daily, with two courses in total, each containing 10 times, with a break of 3-5 days between courses. The patients were advised to exercise the neck 1 or 2 times a day.To appraise the difference in efficacy, observed and recorded the changes in NPQ and SF-MPQ scores before and after the treatment in both groups, after statistical analysis,a comparison of the total effective rate of the two groups was made according to the efficacy evaluation criteria.Result:1.The two groups experienced a decrease from pre-treatment levels in the percentage of NPQ scores and SF-MPQ scores after two courses of treatment,as per the NPQ and SF-MPQ scoring standards, and this difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Both the treatment group and the control group were able to effectively alleviate neck pain and other accompanying symptoms, and to improve the neck dysfunction of cervical spondylotic radiculoupathy in patients.2.The overall analysis is as follows: the treatment group’s clinical effectiveness was significantly higher than the control group’s,with a difference of 93.33% and 80.00% respectively, after the two courses of treatment. This difference was statistically significant(P=0.008<0.01).Conclusion:1.Magnetic round plum needle tapping method combined with acupuncture and conventional acupuncture to treat cervical spondylotic radiculopathy are both effective.2.The utilization of magnetic round plum needle tapping,in conjunction with acupuncture,is far more effective than conventional acupuncture in relieving cervical spondylotic radiculoupathy patients’ neck pain and its accompanying symptoms,as well as improving neck dysfunction.
