Clinical Observation Of Wushe Taohong Decontion Combined With Plum-blossom Needle Cupping In The Treatment Of Prurigo Nodularis

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Wu she Taohong decoction comb-ined with plum blossom needle cupping therapy on Prurigo nod ularis.Methods:In this study,72 patients suffering from Prurigo nod ularis with syndrome of Fengtoxin-blood-stasis type were selected from the dermatology outpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to February 2023,and they were randomly divided into 2 groups,36 cases each.Patients in the treatment group were treated with Wu she Taohong decoction and plum blossom needle cupping,while those in the control group took Xuefuzhuyu tablet orally.Each 4 weeks was a course of treatment,and a total of 2 courses of treatment were performed.The lesions were recorded before treatment,at the 4th week of treatment and at the 8th week of treatment,and they were also scored according to the symptom and sign scoring criteria.Changes of clinical symptoms and signs before and after the treatments were compared between the two groups,and the adverse reactions would be recorded.Results:1.Comparison of curative effects: at the end of the 8th week of treatment,only 1 patient in the treatment group failed,with a total effective rate of 91.42%,while 5 patients in the control group failed,with a total effective rate of 64.7%.After comparing the clinical efficacy of the two groups,a statistically significant difference was found(p<0.05),indicating a more obvious curative efficacy of the treatment group than the control group.2.Comparison of symptom volume integral: After compar ing the skin lesions,itching degree and symptoms and signs of the two groups of patients before treatment,no statistical difference was found(p>0.05).At the end of 4 and 8 weeks after treatment,the two groups of patients were compared with each other,p<0.0 5,showing signif-icant differences,and that means the three aspects of the patients in the treatment group were more significantly improved than those in the control group.3.Comparison of quality of life scores: compare the two groups of patients before treatment,p>0.05,which shows no statistical difference,indicating that there was no significant difference in quality of life before treatment.At the end of 4 and 8 weeks after treatment,the two groups of patients were compared with each other,showing a statistical difference(p<0.05),indicating a more substantial improvement of the quality of life of patients in the treatment group than the control group.4.Adverse reactions: 1 case of needle sickness occurred in the treatment group.Conclusion:1.Wu she Taohong decoction combined with plum blossom needle cupping can effectively improve the symptom and sign scores of Prurigo nod ularis with blood stasis and wind dryness.2.Wu she Taohong decoction combined with plum blossom needle cupping is a safe and effective method for treating nodular pruritus with blood stasis and wind dryness.
