A Meta-Analysis Of The Association Between Gene Mutations In GJB2、SLC26A4 With Efficacy Of Cochlear Implantation

Abstract/Summary:
Objective: Hereditary deafness accounts for a large proportion of birth defects,GJB2,SLC26A4 are important genes that cause hereditary deafness,cochlear implantation is the main means of treating hereditary deafness,but the relationship between gene mutation and postoperative efficacy is inconclusive.Through meta-analysis,the effects of mutations in genes GJB2 and SLC26A4 on the efficacy of cochlear implantation were studied,so as to provide evidence-based basis for judging the efficacy of cochlear implantation through deafness gene screening.Methods: In this study,all case-control experimental studies meeting the inclusion criteria were collected by searching Wanfang Database,CNKI,Vip Database,Web of Science,Pub Med,and Embase databases.Through title,keywords,abstract and other information screening to exclude inappropriate literature,and then through reading the full text to select the literature that meets the standards,extract the data such as auditory behavior grading and language behavior grading after cochlear implantation in the literature,and study the impact of different deafness gene mutations on the efficacy of cochlear implantation.Meta-analyses were performed on eligible articles and heterogeneity and publication bias of included articles were assessed.Results:1.1,136 pieces of information were obtained through the search.According to the established principles,14 articles were finally included,and the total number of researchers included reached 1595.Different studies counted the outcomes of patients with GJB2 and SLC26A4 mutations after cochlear implant surgery.2.Categories of Auditory: 13 studies involving 1465 patients were included.In the overall analysis,GJB2 and SLC26A4 mutations were found to be associated with the efficacy of hearing ability after cochlear implantation.No such association was found between GJB2 mutations and SLC26A4 mutations.3.Speech intelligibility: 10 studies involving 1195 patients were included.In the overall analysis,GJB2 and SLC26A4 mutations were found to be associated with the efficacy of speech intelligibility after cochlear implantation.There is also a difference in efficacy between GJB2 mutations and SLC26A4 mutations.Conclusion: Meta-analysis showed that gene mutations in GJB2 and SLC26A4 were associated with the auditory efficacy after cochlear implantation,and there was no difference in efficacy between the two mutated genes.The gene mutations of GJB2 and SLC26A4 were related to the efficacy of speech intelligibility after cochlear implantation,and there were also differences in efficacy between the two mutated genes.
