Objective:In order to compare the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy with the fixed-direction traction method before and after acupuncture and to observe the difference in efficacy,we laid the foundation for determining the optimal time for the fixed-direction traction method and for the standardization and clinical application research of the fixed-direction traction method. Methods: A total of 90 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy who met the criteria in the Department of Acupuncture and Massage of the Third Clinical Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected for this study and divided into group A(pure acupuncture group),group B(pre-acupuncture interventional the fixed-direction traction method group)and group C(post-acupuncture interventional the fixed-direction traction method group)according to the treatment method. The differences in the efficacy of the three groups were compared by comparing the changes in the data of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Neck Disability Index(NDI),median nerve F-wave conduction velocity and ulnar nerve F-wave conduction velocity before and after treatment and during the follow-up period.Results:1.the total effective rate of group A was 71.43%;the total effective rate of group B was 92.86%;the total effective rate of group C was 93.10%.the total effective rate of groups B and C was higher than that of group A(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference between group B and group C(P > 0.05).2.before and after treatment: The differences in VAS score and NDI index of the three groups at the end of treatment and at the follow-up period were statistically significant compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05);The VAS score at the end of treatment in groups A and B were not significantly different compared with the follow-up period(P >0.05).VAS score at the end of treatment in group C were significantly different compared to the follow-up period(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the NDI index and follow-up period at the end of treatment when comparing the three groups(P > 0.05).The differences in F-wave conduction velocities of the median and ulnar nerves at the end of treatment in all three groups were statistically significant compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05).3.Comparison between groups before and after treatment: The VAS score at the end of treatment and at the follow-up period were compared among the three groups, and there was a significant difference between group A and group B(P < 0.05),and the VAS score the group C were lower than the other two groups, and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05).When comparing the NDI index between the three groups at the end of treatment and at the follow-up period, there were significant differences between groups B and C compared with group A,respectively(P < 0.05),and there was no statistical significance between group B and group C(P > 0.05).The F-wave conduction velocities of the median and ulnar nerves were significantly different between the three groups at the end of treatment in groups B and C,respectively, compared with group A at the end of treatment(P < 0.05),and there was no statistical significance in group B compared with group C(P > 0.05).Conclusion:The three treatment methods for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy can all relieve patients’ pain, restore functional movement of the cervical spine and restore nerve function to varying degrees, and improve patients’ quality of life; The pre-acupuncture interventional fixed-direction traction method and post-acupuncture interventional fixed-direction traction method groups were better than the pure acupuncture group in all stages; There was no significant difference in the overall efficacy between the pre-acupuncture interventional fixed-direction traction method group and post-acupuncture interventional fixed-direction traction method group but the post-acupuncture interventional fixed-direction traction method group was more effective than the pre-acupuncture interventional fixed-direction traction method group in relieving the patients’ pain symptoms.
