Objective:Observe the efficacy of multibiotic Probio-Fit~?combined with trimebutin maleate tablets in the treatment of diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D)and the effects on serum hs-CRP.Methods:Patients with IBS-D who met the nadir criteria and attended our gastroenterology outpatient clinic from June 2021 to February 2023 were randomly divided into a probiotic group and a placebo group.The probiotic group was given trimebutin maleate tablets 0.1g tid+Probio-Fit~?2g qd orally,while the placebo group was given trimebutin maleate tablets 0.1g tid+placebo 2g qd orally,the treatment lasted for 30days.Prior to commencement of the research,general information of patients was obtained,serum hs-CRP levels were gauged,and patients were asked to complete the IBS Symptom Severity Scale(IBS-SSS),IBS Quality of Life score(IBS-QOL),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),and Bristol Fecal Classification Scale.On day 30,other information other than general information was collected again.An examination of the differences between IBS-SSS,IBS-QOL,HAMA,and Bristol fecal classification scale scores and serum hs-CRP levels in patients with IBS-D before and after treatment was conducted through statistical methods.Additionally,the effect of multibiotic Probio-Fit~?combined with trimebutin maleate on IBS-D and serum hs-CRP was observed.Results:1.The probiotics group’s total score of IBS-SSS,degree of abdominal pain,frequency of abdominal pain,abdominal distension,defecation satisfaction,and overall interference score to quality of life all decreased significantly after treatment,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)compared to before treatment.The placebo group’s total IBS-SSS score,abdominal pain intensity,frequency,and satisfaction with defecation all decreased significantly in comparison to those prior to treatment(P<0.05).The probiotic group’s total score of IBS-SSS,the intensity of abdominal pain,frequency of abdominal pain,and the contentment of defecation after treatment all significantly decreased in comparison to the placebo group,with a statistical significance(~*P<0.05).2.Significant statistical significance(P<0.05)was found between the total scores of IBS-QOL,anxiety,activity disturbance,health concern,food avoidance,and social response in the probiotic group after treatment and before treatment.Additionally,the placebo group’s total scores of IBS-QOL,activity disturbance,health concern,and food avoidance were significantly higher than those before treatment,with statistical significance(P<0.05).No noteworthy disparities were observed in the IBS-QOL total rating,apprehension,activity disruption,body image,health worries,food evasion,social reaction,sexual consideration and interpersonal relationship ratings between the two groups(~*P>0.05).3.The HAMA scores of the probiotics group and the placebo group decreased overall after treatment,but there was no significant difference compared with before treatment(probiotics group t=1.133,P=0.267;Placebo group t=0.370,P=0.715).There was no significant difference between the two groups(~*P>0.05).4.Both groups can improve the fecal morphology of IBS-D patients andnormalize it.The probiotics group’s effect on the 30th day was significantly superior to that of the placebo group(?~2=4.877,P=0.027).5.After treatment,the hs-CRP levels of the probiotics group and the placebogroup were lower than those before treatment,but the difference was not statistically significant(probiotics group t=1.660,P=0.109;Placebo group t=0.109,P=0.262).Compared with the placebo group,the probiotics group had a significant decrease in hs-CRP level,but there was no significant difference(~*P>0.05).Conclusion:1.The combination of multibiotic Probio-Fit~?and trimebutine maleate tablets can significantly enhance severity of IBS-D symptoms,reduce the frequency of abdominal pain episodes,improve bloating,improve bowel satisfaction,and lessen the impact on life,quality of life,and normalized stool characteristics in those suffering from IBS-D.2.Patients with IBS-D saw a marked enhancement in symptom severity,abdominal pain intensity,frequency of abdominal pain,and bowel contentment due to the multibiotic Probio-Fit~?.3.The multibiotic Probio-Fit~?can significantly improve the stool characteristics of IBS-D patients.4.The multibiotic Probio-Fit~?can down-regulate serum hs-CRP levels in IBS-D patients at certain levels.
