Objective: Objectively analyzed the clinical efficacy of joint cavity injection combined with massage therapy in the treatment of frozen shoulder, and provided theoretical basis for the treatment of frozen shoulder by combining Chinese and Western medicine.Method: In a retrospective analysis,44 patients with frozen shoulder who presented to the Department of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy,Jiangxi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to December2022 and received joint cavity injection combined with tuina therapy and joint cavity injection alone were selected by inclusion and exclusion criteria. The patients were divided into two groups according to the treatment method: the control group(21 patients)was treated with joint cavity injection, and the observation group(23 patients)was treated with joint cavity injection combined with tui-na therapy. The visual analogue scale(VAS),shoulder function score(Constant-Murley score(CMS))were collected before,at the 2th week after treatment and at the 4th week after treatment in both groups. And clinical efficacy indexes were collected before,at the 2th week after treatment in both groups. The intra-group and inter-group analyses of the above observed indexes were used to understand the effect of joint cavity injection combined with massage therapy in the treatment of frozen shoulder.Result:(1)Before treatment, there were no differences between the two groups in gender, age, site of onset, duration of disease,VAS score, and CMS score(P>0.05),which were comparable and met the requirements for subsequent comparative analysis.(2)Comparison of VAS scores: The index values of VAS scores in the control group were(6.048±0.865),(3.619±0.669)and(2.810±1.167)before,at the 2th week after treatment and at the 4th week after treatment, respectively;while the index values of VAS scores in the observation group were(6.130±1.014),(3.043±0.767)and(2.130±0.815)before,at the 2th week after treatment and at the 4th week after treatment, respectively. The VAS scores of both groups improved significantly at the 2th week after treatment of frozen shoulder and 4weeks after treatment compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group at the 2th week after treatment and 4 weeks after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)Comparison of CMS scores: The CMS score index values of the control group were(45.714±4.755),(71.810±4.523)and(81.810±4.996)before,at the 2th week after treatment and at the 4th week after treatment, respectively;while the CMS score index values of the observation group were(46.174±4.479),(77.130±5.379)and(81.478±5.316)before,at the 2th week after treatment and at the 4th week after treatment, respectively. The CMS scores of both groups improved significantly at the 2th week after treatment of frozen shoulder and 4weeks after the treatment compared with the pre-treatment scores, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The CMS scores of the observation group were better than those of the control group at the 2th week after treatment and 4 weeks after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)Comparison of clinical efficacy:at the 2th week after treatment,1 cases(4.76%)were cured,4 cases(19.05%)were effective,16 cases(76.19%)were effective, and 0 case(0%)was ineffective in the control group;2 cases(8.70%)were cured,8 cases(34.78%)were effective,13 cases(56.52%)were effective, and 0 cases(0%)were ineffective in the observation group. The total effective rate of the control group was 21 cases(100%),and the total effective rate of the observation group was 23 cases(100%).The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P=0.388>0.05).Conclusion: Both joint cavity injection combined with acupressure treatment and simple joint cavity injection treatment are effective methods for the treatment of frozen shoulder, and the efficacy of both treatment methods is similar. However, compared with simple joint cavity injection, joint cavity injection combined with massage therapy still has certain advantages in reducing pain and improving function, which is worth further promotion in clinical practice.
