Objective:The study aimed to To explore the correlation between Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection and colorectal adenoma. Methods:A total of 534 patients who underwent gastroscopy, colonoscopy and 13-C urea breath test in Fenyang Hospital,Shanxi Province from January 2018 to January 2022 were collected, including 195 patients diagnosed with colorectal adenoma by biopsy, and the remaining 339 patients as the control group.General clinical data, related biochemical indexes and endoscopic pathological characteristics were collected.Person correlation test was used to analyze the differences in gender, smoking history, drinking history, carcinoembryonic antigen,Hp infection and pathological characteristics under endoscopy.T test was used to analyze the differences in age, body mass index(BMI),systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and serum uric acid.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between Hp infection and colorectal adenoma. Results:There were significant differences in age,BMI,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and carcinoembryonic antigen between the two groups(P < 0.05),but no significant differences in gender, smoking history, drinking history, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride and serum uric acid(P > 0.05).The prevalence of Hp in colorectal adenoma group(66/129,33.85%)was higher than that in control group(83/256,24.48%)(P < 0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the predictive effect of Hp infection on the risk of colorectal adenoma.Hp infection was associated with an increased risk of colorectal adenoma when association factors were not adjusted(OR=1.58;95%CI: 1.07-2.32;P < 0.05),the risk of Hp infection and colorectal adenoma decreased slightly after adjusting for age and sex(OR=1.49;95%CI: 1.00-2.21;P < 0.05).The association was higher after additional adjustments for smoking history, alcohol consumption,BMI,systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood uric acid, and carcinoembryonic antigen(OR=1.66;95%CI: 1.08-2.55;P < 0.05).In terms of pathological features under endoscopy, colorectal adenomas were mainly distributed in the right colon(44.62%,87/195).Most of the patients had small adenomas(82.56%,161/195)and multiple adenomas(61.03%,119/195).There was no significant correlation between the location, size and number of adenomas and Hp infection(P >0.05).Conclusion:1.Hp infection is associated with an increased risk of colorectal adenoma.Hp may be one of the risk factors for the occurrence and development of colorectal adenoma.2.Hp infection is not associated with the location, size and number of colorectal adenomas.
