| Objective:Although the early results of percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(PE-TLIF)may be favorable, strong evidence for its long-term outcomes is lacking. This meta-analysis examined the long-term outcomes of PE-TLIF.Methods:We conducted a systematic search of the major databases to find articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria established. We analyzed the primary outcome index Visual Analog Score(VAS)scale and secondary outcome index Oswestry disability index(ODI)(preoperation, postoperation and final follow-up)to evaluate the clinical efficacy, and conducted a subgroup analysis of the VAS score to find possible impact results. We also calculated the mean deviation(MD)and 95% confidence interval(CI)of each group, and investigated the perioperative complications, the fusion rate and the height of intervertebral disc related to long-term prognosis. We registered with PROSPERO before screening literature.PROSPERO ID: CRD42022321468Results:A total of 5 articles were included in this study.VAS-Back and VAS-Leg scores were significantly improved after PE-TLIF treatment, and PE-TLIF could provide strong interbody fusion and reduce complications in long-term outcomes. Conclusion:The long-term clinical effect of percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion may be good, and more randomized controlled trials should be conducted to evaluate its long-term safety. |
