Research Into Regional Health Care Service Efficiency And Its Influencing Factor

Health care services are an important part of the national economy,and the government has continuously increased investment in health care services with the rapid development of economy and the increase of people’s requirements for health care services.However,the level of health care services is not improved significantly,and the service quality is still uneven.Thus,the research regarding the efficiency of health care services is an important topic to be explored.Based on the status quo of health care services in China,this thesis conducts an indepth research study of the efficiency of health care services and its influencing factors.First,this thesis selects the input and output indicators as well as influencing factors of health care service efficiency through literature review and analyzes the current status of the input and output of health care services in China.Second,according to the selected indicators,the stochastic frontier analysis(SFA)method is used to establish an integrated model for efficiency evaluation and the influencing factor analysis,and then the technical output and health output efficiency of regional health care services in China from 2009 to 2018 are calculated and the influencing factors are tested.Third,the distribution and changing trend of technical output and health output efficiency in eastern,central,western,and northeastern regions are analyzed from time and space dimensions,and the influence of these factors on the two kinds of efficiencies is discussed.Finally,some policy suggestions are put forward to help improve the efficiency of health care services in terms of the whole process of health care service input and output.The results of this thesis show that the overall technical output and health output efficiency of China’s health care services are relatively stable.There are obvious regional differences in the technical output efficiency of health care services,where the values of the eastern and central regions are relatively higher,while the western and northeast regions have lower values.By contrast,regional differences in health out efficiency are relatively small.Economic,social,and regional factors have a significant influence on the technical output and health output efficiency of health care services.Among them,population density has a positive impact on technical output efficiency,while it has a negative impact on health output efficiency.The results can provide reference for relevant government departments to allocate health care investment rationally and formulate relevant policies.
