Objective: At present, some studies have shown that there is a certain correlation between androgen receptor(AR)and the occurrence and development of bladder cancer, but the clinical correlation between the expression of AR and bladder cancer patients is still controversial. The purpose of this Meta analysis was to evaluate the correlation between the expression of AR in bladder cancer and the clinicopathological features and prognosis of patients with bladder cancer. Methods: According to the literature retrieval strategy, the relevant Chinese and English literatures from the establishment of the database to May 2020 are systematically searched in Pub Med,Embase,Sino Med,Cochrane,CNKI and Wanfang database.According to the literature screening criteria,a total of 16 articles were included in the analysis.Rev Man5.2,Stata14.0 and Engauge Digitizer4.1were used for data extraction and statistical analysis. The correlation between AR expression and clinicopathological characteristics of bladder cancer patients(including gender,T stage, tumor metastasis, histological grade)was analyzed by odds ratio(OR)and 95% confidence interval(CI).The correlation between AR expression and prognosis of bladder cancer patients was analyzed by hazard ratio(HR)and 95%CI.Finally,publication bias test and sensitivity analysis were carried out. Results: Meta analysis showed that non-caucasian bladder cancer patients with AR positive expression had better relapse-free survival(RFS)(HR=0.46,95%CI=0.25~0.87);non-muscle invasive bladder cancer patients with positive expression of AR had better RFS(HR=0.41,95%CI=0.26~0.65);bladder cancer patients with negative expression of AR may have better progression-free survival(PFS)(HR=1.48,95%CI=1.07~2.07);the expression of AR in patients with bladder cancer was not statistically significant with T stage(OR=1.39,95%CI=0.66~2.91)and tumor metastasis(including lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis)(OR=0.77,95%CI=0.30~1.96).In addition, the expression of AR may be correlated with gender and histological grade. Conclusions: The expression of AR can be used as a prognostic indicator of bladder cancer patients in a specific population, but its correlation with clinicopathological features still needs to be further verified. |
