| Objective(s): The aim of this thesis to explore the clinical significance of minocycline hydrochloride in the treatment of erythema telangiectasia rosacea and further provide guidance and suggestions for the treatment of rosacea in this phenotype. Methods: A total of 20 patients with rosacea of erythema telangiectasia as the main phenotype were enrolled in this study and were treated with oral minocycline hydrochloride 100 mg/day for 8 weeks. The a* values, erythema index,TEWL values, and erythema scores of the skin at the site of facial lesions before and after treatment were measured and evaluated by the spectrophotometry,anon-invasive skin physiological function tester,VISIA facial analyzer, and the Investigator’s Global Scoring Scale. The lactic acid stimulation test and capsaicin test were performed on the same area of the face before and after the treatment. The self-perceived symptoms, quality of life, sleep, anxiety and depression status before and after the treatment were investigated by the Self-Consciousness Symptom Rating,Health Status Questionnaire(SF-36),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Self-Assessment Scales(SAS)and Depression Self-Assessment Scales(SDS).The data were analysed using SPSS27.0software.Results: After 8 weeks of oral treatment with minocycline hydrochloride100mg/day,the facial skin a* value, erythema index,TEWL value, and erythema score of 20 patients with rosacea of erythema telangiectasia were significantly lower than the values before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P < 0.05);the burning, tingling, edema, dryness and other self-conscious symptoms are significantly relieved compared with before treatment;the percentage of positive lactic acid stimulation test and capsaicin test were significantly lower than those before treatment;rosacea patients Vitality(VT),mental health(MH)and mental health score(MCS)scores were significantly higher than the values before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);total PSQI score and SAS score were significantly lower than the values before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);SDS score did not change significantly compared to before treatment. Conclusions: Oral minocycline hydrochloride(100mg/day)treatment for 8weeks significantly reduced the facial erythema,self-consciousness,improved the skin barrier function, skin sensitivity and neurovascular regulation function in patients with rosacea of erythema telangiectasia;at the same time, patients’ quality of life, sleep and anxiety were improved. |
