| Xu Yunuo was a central plains poet who entered the literary world in the 1920s with his poetry work.He also made great achievements in novels,essays and dramas.Xu Yunuo traveled all his life in Fujian,Jilin,Shandong,Henan and other places.His experience of living in other provinces has had an important impact on his literary creation and has become an important clue of his spiritual evolution.The spiritual process and cultural concerns also coincide with the struggle of modern writers in Henan trying to get outside the Central Plains.These research connotations not only reflect the important aspects of modern writers’ attempts at modernity,but also provide a new reference for investigating the spatial context of modern literature’s development.This paper takes Fujian,Jilin and Henan as the research field,and combines Xu Yunuo’s literary creation in the corresponding stage to observe the writer’s individual life experience.In addition,this paper further explores whether "garden of the future" has become the habitat of Xu Yunuo’s spiritual home after the founding of The People’s Republic of China,so as to examine the richness and complexity of the writer’s realistic experience in different circumstances,in order to provide supplement for Xu Yunuo’s related research.The first chapter analyzes the background and reasons of Xu Yunuo’s flowing experience.Starting with the social environment of war disaster,bandit disaster and natural disaster in Henan province in 1920s,this paper investigates Xu Yunuo’s growing environment and real life.Then it analyzes the relationship between the awkward position of Henan province and the youth exodus during the May 4th Movement period.Under the influence of the real life,the narrow cultural space,the liberation of individual thoughts and other factors,seeking the way has become an inevitable choice.The second chapter focuses on Fujian,and investigates the literary creation and spiritual evolution of Xu Yunuo in Fuzhou and Xiamen respectively.This is an important stage of Xu Yunuo’s ideological exploration and writing practice,which has been neglected by the academic circle for a long time.Under the influence of love and hate,Xu Yunuo’s poetry burst out,and published his own collection of poems Garden of the Future,which established his position among modern writers of Henan and even the whole modern literary circle.During the Xiamen period,Xu Yunuo was mainly lonely and depressed due to language barriers and living conditions.Xu Yunuo turned to folk art,paying attention to folk songs in southern Fujian,forming relevant academic miscellaneous theories.The third chapter focuses on Xu Yunuo’s living experience and literary creation in Jilin,analyzes the reason and discusses his relationship with Zhou Zuoren,his social activities with Xiao Jun and others.The paper focuses on his twenty essays on life and academic life published in Yuwen Weekly.This is a turn between the peak of his early poetry and the creation of folk songs:the series of "Ice Cave Cocoon" and "Xiaoxue Records in the Corner"reflect a spiritual aspect of his particular period,and the academic essay "Commentaries of Female Poet Qiao Xiaoqing" is an important document for the study of Xu Yunuo.The fourth chapter discusses the significance of Henan to Xu Yunuo.Xu Yunuo’s life footprint throughout Henan nearly ten counties.Henan can be seen as an important region of his life.The cultural implication of several trips away from home and returning home not only points to the collective memory and identity derived from the place,but also the appeal of"local" awakening,which is the common result of traumatic memory and abandoned child consciousness.In addition,the imprint of the Henan on Xu Yunuo and his works is manifested in"Earthy","Ranger" and "True" temperament.The fifth chapter focuses on the "garden of the future".In the mid-1930s,Xu Yunuo proposed that " Practice is More important than Rhetoric ",and devoted himself to patriotic practice,looking forward to the arrival of the new society.He rejoiced in life liberation and self-sufficiency,but he still hesitated and never stopped looking for the way.In this process,the original creative style gradually approached and reached an agreement with the discourse of the new society,and a "new quality self " was born.The last section attempts to explore another possibility of the "garden of the future"——the residence of the soul.From the passer-by in Henan to the praiser of the new society,from the burst of poetry to the turn of creation,from living in various provinces to wandering in Henan,Xu Yunuo has always maintained the eternal poetic nature,and his living track finally outlines the road to the depths of his soul.Return to yourself,just arrived.It can be seen that Xu Yunuo’s research value needs to be further explored.His fanatical vitality and flappy poet’s nature make it possible for him and his works to grow continuously. |
