Contemporary "Grassland Songs" in Inner Mongolia are a unique form of art that embodies both strong ethnic characteristics and distinct contemporary features.It not only plays an important role in entertainment in Inner Mongolia but is also an integral part of modern music culture.Broadly speaking,"Grassland Songs" are a new genre of songs that have emerged alongside the changing social and cultural background in China.Specifically,it refers to a group of songs created by musicians in Inner Mongolia after the founding of the People’s Republic of China that have the grasslands of Inner Mongolia as their main theme.Compared to traditional Mongolian folk songs,contemporary Grassland Songs belong to the category of new folk songs.In this article,the term "Grassland Songs" is used in its specific sense.Contemporary Grassland Songs in Inner Mongolia have become increasingly popular,but research on their performance is not yet comprehensive or in-depth.The author believes that analyzing and studying the performance of "Monyshan"can help the author better understand the musical style and vocal techniques of Grassland Songs.This article will focus on the study of the musical and cultural implications of Grassland Songs and their performance techniques,using "Monyshan" as an example.The first section introduces the historical background of "Monyshan" and explores the"grassland" symbols behind the Grassland Song,which represent the unique cultural characteristics of the people of the Mongolian grasslands and convey the cultural implications of the grasslands through music.The second section focuses on the lyrics and melody of "Monyshan" from the perspective of the features of Grassland Songs.In the third section,the author refers to the performance versions of three famous singers,Husileng,Han Hong,and Zhang Yu,to explore the performance style of Grassland Songs and how to better inherit the "grassland" symbols in the song.Finally,based on the author’s understanding,the article summarizes and explains how to use "runqiang"(a traditional Chinese singing technique)in "Monyshan."The song "Monyshan" inherits and promotes the musical culture of Grassland Songs,which as a music genre,demonstrates a rich musical style and unique artistic personality.It is constantly evolving and expanding in both form and content,while also having distinct contemporary features.In order to better interpret works of modern Mongolian music culture in China,it is necessary to understand the "grassland" cultural implications contained in the works and to learn and apply the "runqiang" vocal techniques in performance. |
