Composed by Baoyu and written by Zhou Haihong,the serial opera "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: Flying to the Moon" is a shining pearl of Chinese opera.This opera,inspired by Wagner’s musical ’holistic art’,is rooted in the artistic soil of China,and is based on the ancient cultural ’wonder book’ The Classic of Mountains and Seas.It is grand in scale and full of epic flavor.Hou Yi,the main character,is the only tenor in the play.It is extremely difficult to sing.Opera performers need not only superb singing skills and excellent performance skills,but also extraordinary endurance,physical strength,willpower and artistic accumulation.This article will systematically discuss the academic thoughts and creative process of the opera "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: Flying to the Moon",as well as the structure of the drama and the artistic image of Hou Yi’s character,as basic materials;A detailed analysis of the singing techniques and handling of Hou Yi’s character will be taken as the main content,and the exploration of the musical image of Hou Yi’s character from different perspectives will be conducted.The overall conclusion will be the explanation of the connection between Hou Yi’s opera singing and musical image,so as to provide certain reference and inspiration for the singer of this character in the article.
