| Franz Liszt,known as the "King of the Piano",was one of the leading figures of the19 th century Romantic period and one of the most remarkable musicians in the history of music.Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E flat major is a dazzling and brilliant concerto,a technically complex and sophisticated showcase of the performer’s virtuosity.The concerto was written in 1830 and premiered at the Weimar court in 1855.After decades of revision and refinement,the concerto has a novel structure,grandeur,and a high level of virtuosity throughout the piece.Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E-flat major requires the performer to play the four movements without interruption,how can I interpret this difficult piece,which takes twenty minutes to play,using proper playing techniques?The performance is majestic and heroic,with beautiful lyrical passages and witty and lively character,and with enough power and momentum to match the orchestra.It is worthwhile to explore and analyze this piece in depth in order to interpret it well when playing it.Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E-flat Major is my graduation concert piece.Unlike other types of solo piano works studied in graduate school,this piece is performed by one piano and two pianos in concert.This piece requires not only that the performer present his or her own part as perfectly as possible,but also that the performer and the piano accompanist work together.The first part of this paper introduces Liszt’s achievements in the field of piano and the journey of the work’s creation.The second part focuses on the musical analysis of Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E-flat major,which contains the sonata-like heroic first movement,the soft and lyrical second movement,the witty third movement,and the gorgeous and brilliant fourth movement.The third section summarizes the difficulties of playing the work with fast finger runs,octaves,florals,and ornamental notes and gives examples of how to practice them.The fourth part explains the techniques and precautions to be taken when playing this work for two pianos,as well as the preparation for the stage practice and the reflections after the concert performance.This paper takes Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E-flat major as the object of study,and analyzes and summarizes the structure,music composition,performance techniques and performance practice of the work,both for a better understanding of the work and for a correct and clear method of playing the technical difficulties of the work,which will provide a reference for the performers. |
