Analysis Of The Artistic Characteristics And Performance Of The Art Song "Eulogy" Of Xu Zhimo’s Poems

"Eulogy" was originally composed by the modern English poet and educator Matthew Arnold,then translated into the ancient poem "Eulogy" by the modern Chinese poet Xu Zhimo,and later composed by the excellent vocalist Zhang Rui in 2009,combining poetry and rhythm to create the deeply emotional ancient poetry art song"Eulogy",which is short and concise,with a calm and gloomy tune but with a strong emotional conflict.The author explores the art song "Eulogy" by studying the structure of Xu Zhimo’s poems,the characteristics of art songs and the unique style of Mr.Zhang Rui’s composition from his own concert singing experience.The article is divided into three parts:the first is the artistry of Xu Zhimo’s "Eulogy";the second is the musical characteristics of the art song Eulogy;and the third is the analysis of the singing of Eulogy.which is studied in the Chinese version translated by Xu Zhimo.
