Research On Kojève’s Concept Of "In-existence" | | Posted on:2024-08-10 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:G A Cao | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2545307100479124 | Subject:Foreign philosophy | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Alexandre Vladimirovitch Kojèvnikov’s Hegelian seminar at the (?)cole Pratique Supérieure in Paris was one of the sources of the real revival of Hegelianism in France.His creative interpretation of Hegel’s “Subject of desire” has continued to influence a number of French thinkers in the last century.Taking the formation of Kojève’s concept of death as the starting point,this paper analyzes the background of French philosophy in the twentieth century,and argues that Kojève’s conception of death and religious consciousness in his youth were the key to the formation of the problem of the immanence of consciousness,and also the key concept of “InExistence” in his thought system.Through the discussion of the concept of “InExistence” and comparison with the ontological and subjective aspects of traditional essentialism,such as Parmenides’ “non-existence” and Descartes’ “Cogito”,the ontological and subjective aspects of Kojève’s philosophy are presented.The connotation of the concept of “In-Existence”——the premise of Kojève’s philosophy of “undoubted”,also presented.The concept of “In-Existence” is a “pure idea of ideas”,which is a double negation of existence and non-existence.It’s the capstone of Kojève’s thought system.By further exploring the constituent elements of subjectivity under the concept of “In-Existence”,the connection between “InExistence” and the subject of “Desire” is explained in detail,and it is clear that Kojève’s subject becomes the subject not only it “has an end”,and not because of the animalistic desire “simply to lack something”,but because of the desire for“recognition” of equal status.It is the unique labor of the slave in the dialectic of master and slave,and it can be said that Kojève’s concept of In-Existence and his interpretation of Hegel’s “Subject of desire” are mutually exclusive.Through the elaboration of the concept of “In-Existence” in Hegel’s seminar,Kojève actually emptied out the rationalism or essentialism that has been traversing the West for more than two thousand years,and introduced a more “concrete” person into the French philosophy of the subject.Covered by his principle of “In-Existence”,Kojève’s view of the subject of desire suggests the premise of structuralism’s “essenceless”,and thus profoundly influencing the course of French philosophy in the last century,also providing the key intellectual resource for the transition of French philosophy from the “3H” era to the “3M” era. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Kojève, In-existence, Death, Desire, Labour | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
