| English homework is an indispensable part of English teaching and an important way for teachers to understand the achievement of teaching objectives and students’ mastery of knowledge and skills.Scientific and effective homework arrangement can help students develop their interest in learning,build up self-confidence,develop good learning habits and master effective learning strategies.On the contrary,it can become an ineffective exercise and increase students’ burden.With the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the drawbacks of these traditional English homework have become increasingly obvious.In today’s world where the concept of "building a moral society" is deeply rooted in people’s minds,the traditional English homework cannot adapt to the requirements of the new English curriculum standards,and the reform of English homework is urgent.This research focuses on the current situation of English homework in junior high schools,combining the "double reduction" policy with the action research method.And it tries to integrate project-based homework into the English teaching in schools.There are two main questions involved in this research:(1)How to improve students’ interest in learning English through project-based homework in junior high school?(2)How to design high-quality and efficient project-based English homework to promote the overall development of students in junior high school? The author conducts a survey on the current situation of English homework in junior high school through a questionnaire,in which a total of 80 students in Grade 9 participated.In addition,the author conducts three rounds of action research on the design of project-based English homework in junior high school by using Class 4,Grade 9,which I teach,as an action class to plan,implement and reflect on the project-based homework.Finally,the author uses a questionnaire to understand the effects of project-based English homework in junior high school.After analyzing the results of the questionnaire survey by SPSS(version 23),the author found that project-based English homework in junior high school has a significant impact on students’ language ability,learning ability,thinking quality and cultural awareness.It can not only effectively enhance students’ interest in English learning but also promote students’ overall development and implement the task of establishing moral education.Therefore,the author believes that schools should advocate and gradually promote project-based English homework in English teaching of junior high school. |
