An Analysis Of The Singing Practice Of Jules Massenet’s Art Songs

Massenet is one of the representative figures of the French romantic music art in the 19 th century.He made achievements in the fields of opera and art song creation.His works have a long history,and continue to innovate and reform,forming a unique artistic style,which plays a key role in promoting the development of French art songs.Based on the relevant theories of French art songs,this paper takes “Open Your Eyes “ and “Elegy “ as the research objects,and explores the artistic value of Massenet ’s French art songs through the singing analysis and music analysis of the two works.The first is to introduce the creation of Massenet,and then to explore the creative background of the two art songs;secondly,the lyrics and musical structure of these two art songs are analyzed,and they are expected to be applied to stage practice through detailed analysis.Finally,in the understanding of the connotation of the work,combined with the accumulation of the previous theoretical basis,combined with my experience in the stage practice of graduation concert,the singing skills and emotional expression of these two works are processed and analyzed.This paper takes the two songs of ’ open your eyes ’ and ’ sad song ’ as examples,from the perspective of music characteristics and emotional expression,combined with the singing of Massenet’s art songs,carries out skills and music analysis,and reflects on the artistic value of Massenet’s art songs in stage performance.
