| In recent years,the state’s protection of intangible cultural heritage has entered a new stage,The importance of cultural innovation and cultural self-confidence was emphasized.Admittedly,the 5000 year cultural heritage of the Chinese nation is profound and profound,including rich and colorful ancient sports culture.The unique oriental sports spirit can not only serve as a model for promoting cultural self-confidence in China,but also serve as a strong evidence for the export of foreign sports culture.Ancient murals have high aesthetic value,depicting and reflecting the long and splendid historical civilization of the Chinese nation with their diversity and integrity.The saying goes,"Look at Shanxi for its cultural relics on the ground." Ancient temples and temples in Shanxi have a large audience,and the ancient murals painted in these temples are rich in content,with exquisite iron line drawing techniques.The number of remains of temple murals from the Yuan Dynasty in Shanxi ranks first in the country,with a total area of over 1800 square meters.The colorful and wide-ranging ancient murals in Shanxi contain many images of ancient Chinese sports,For example,"Chui Wan Pictorial Wall" of the Guangsheng Temple of the Yuan Dynasty,selected for the China Sports Museum.These murals vividly and truly record more than ten ancient Chinese sports activities,such as archery,riding,cuju,chui wan,and go.They are physical evidence of the historical process of Chinese national sports and have important cultural value.This study collects,collates,and analyzes the sports images remaining in the murals of Shanxi temples and monasteries in the Yuan Dynasty,providing new historical data for the study of sports history in the Yuan Dynasty in China,providing data and samples for the thematic study of sports images in the murals of the Yuan Dynasty in Shanxi,and exploring the cultural connotations behind sports images,with the aim of inheriting and promoting the cultural spirit of the Chinese nation in the traditional culture of national sports,Effectively promote research on Chinese sports culture and Chinese sports spirit.This study summarizes and arranges the data based on methods such as literature review,field survey,image analysis,triple evidence,and archeological typology.Field visits to five Yuan Dynasty temples,including the Qinglong Temple in Jishan,Shanxi,Yongle Palace in Ruicheng County,Water God Temple in Guangsheng Temple in Hongdong County,Wuyue Temple in Fenyang County,and Sanqing Temple in Wanshou Palace in Gaoping City,as well as verification and textual research of relevant materials from the "Picture of Immortals Arriving at the Meeting" of Pingyang Temple in southern Shanxi,were conducted to compile all sports images.During the investigation,relevant experts from history and art were interviewed about the sports culture of the Yuan Dynasty reflected in sports images,Record and classify various sports images appearing in temples,and conduct comprehensive research based on other handed down literature and related folk customs passed down to the present.Through investigation and research,the author found that there are a total of 9existing temples in the Yuan Dynasty of Shanxi,and 5 temples with sports images in their murals.In addition,there are a total of six preserved overseas "Immortals Arriving at Meetings".There are a total of 26 sports images,including 1 Qinglong Temple in Jishan,10 Yongle Palace,4 Wuyue Temple,and 4 Water God Temple in Guangsheng Temple,HongdongFive paintings of "Immortals Arriving at the Meeting" from the Pingyang Temple in southern Shanxi,and two surviving murals from the Wanshou Palace in Gaoping City.The sports images included are 22 martial arts images,3 archery images,4 horse riding images,1 pounding ball image,1 chess image,and 1 drumbeat image.These sports images are mainly concentrated in the southern region of Shanxi,and their structural layout mostly appears in the east wall,west wall,and front door of temple murals,surrounding the main characters in the center of the murals.Based on the content of sports images from the remains of temples and temples in the Yuan Dynasty,and supported by historical documents,it is found that the characteristics of sports culture in the Yuan Dynasty include the following aspects: firstly,there was a phenomenon of "Mongolization" in sports in Shanxi during the Yuan Dynasty,and the environment of ethnic integration promoted sports culture to have many characteristics of Mongolian tribes;Secondly,the sports culture of the Yuan Dynasty was influenced by certain religious ideas,with images of sports depicted in both Buddhist and Taoist temples;Thirdly,the development of leisure sports among the citizens of the Yuan Dynasty was prosperous,and society’s understanding of sports activities was still in a relatively early stage of entertainment and leisure;Fourthly,the martial arts of the Yuan Dynasty developed in a hidden form of "zaju",which to some extent was the carrier and characteristic of the development of martial arts in the Yuan Dynasty.In the current context of intangible cultural heritage protection and cultural power,many temple murals in Shanxi during the Yuan Dynasty were seriously weathered,and the degree of inheritance and protection was insufficient.The main ways to promote the inheritance and development of sports images in Shanxi temple murals during the Yuan Dynasty include: 1.Establishing a database of Shanxi sports murals,realizing image databases and digital protection,and giving full play to the positive role of sports cultural relics in the construction of sports culture.2.The state has introduced policies to protect and develop sports murals based on laws and policies.3.Make good use of the cultural heritage of Shanxi sports murals,and transform them into regional characteristic tourism resources through the use of cultural living inheritance methods. |
